United Airlines Boeing 767 just hit a DELIVERY TRUCK on the highway

They will kill us all just to be politically correct.
MAGAts? I agree. They seek to use only older Euro-American males who are willing to kiss the fat orange ass rather than competent leaders.

You and I live in weird times. :)

Wrong again me wee lass. I'm the party that supports and defends the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic along with being a major supporter of hanging traitors and killing terrorists.

Your violent hatred and death wishes against me aside, the fact remains all aircrew and ATC have to pass rigorous standards.

Those who claim a pilot, flight attendant or air traffic controller were given a free pass simply because they were a woman or non-European ancestry are simply small-minded, evil minions of Satan pushing bigotry and hate. These people are choosing evil over God's grace and will end up paying for their evil ways.

Too many commercial jets in the sky and too many unqualified pilots.

I know enough to realize the high incidences of aviation disasters over the past 10 years. Maybe you should educate yourself.

I forgot more about this industry than you will ever know. There have not been an increase in aviation disasters in the past 10 years. It's been very steady for decades. On average there are 5 fatal flights for ever 16 million flights in this country every year. That is an INCREDIBLY low statistic.

In 2007, the National Transportation Safety Board estimated a total of nearly 24 million flight hours. Of these 24 million hours, 6.84 of every 100,000 flight hours yielded an airplane crash, and 1.19 of every 100,000 yielded a fatal crash. This is down from an all-time high of 9.08 accidents per 100,000 hours in 1994.

Aviation is one of the most difficult industries to get into. Learning to fly is extremely difficult and expensive and passing the required check rides to become a commercial pilot is no joke. Then gaining enough hours to hire on in the right seat of a commercial airline is even more difficult.

We have 50,000 planes in the air over the nation at any given time. The last time we had an accident a plane hit a firetruck. Before that, I can't even remember when. Flying is by far the safest form of transportation and one reason is because of the highly trained pilots in our nations skies.

So I stick with what I said before. You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about. You've only been in the cabin of an airliner. I've been in the cockpit, behind the scenes and even worked on them. I know this industry inside and out. I've been actively involved in aviation since I was 18. Pilot by 19. Mechanic by 30.

Back in college, my speech presentation was on aviation safety. I crunched the numbers. If you took one flight at random every day, it would take you about 25,000 years before you were in an accident, and chances are you would survive. If you randomly choose a vehicle every day and rode in it for 8 hours a day, it would take 3 months before you would be in an accident and chances are you would not survive.

I hear the driver is okay. He's a very lucky guy.

If yer runway has a yellow line on one side and a dotted yellow line on the other side…and guard rails on the edges of the asphalt…..yer probably doing it wrong…

If yer runway has a “merge” sign…yer probably doing it wrong..

If yer runway has mile markers, exits and a truck stop nearby…yer probably doing it wrong…

How many is too many?

Can you even name them without googling?

You do realize that about 40,000 people die on Americas roadways each year, but on average, less than 50 die in plane crashes? Even though airplanes are going 10 times faster and 30,000 times higher?

literally a commercial plane full of passengers dies EVERY day on our nations roads, yet we'll go a decade without a single major aviation disaster in America? And you say that's too many?

Why don't you care about road safety? THAT is what is killing Americans.

Nope, not that low on landing. All you'd hear is "Fifty.....forty.......thirty.......twenty...."

It sure is nice knowing so much about aviation and correctly all of this garbage posted in this thread LOL
