UK farmers march over having to pay tax like everyone else.

No nation can survive an internal war on its farmers and producers

Instead of arming Ukraine we need to arm the Allied resistance in Fascist occupied Britain.

We should start arming Ukrainian citizens instead of the BlackRock occupied government
The "war" is asking millionaires to pay their share. Fuck em.

Inheritance taxes are not only immoral but state sponsored thievery.

You are welome to vote to abolish it. But nobody does.

I used to feel that way but more recently I have changed my mind. In effect it is unearned wealth and just contributes to the entrenchment of wealth and power.
It helps to redress that. Its good.

Destroying generational farms and ranching by turning them into a welfare fund generator by an immoral inheritance tax is one of the most stupid things a government can do.

"Hey, lets take the land away from the families that have been farming the land for generations to provide more welfare for Muslim immigrants, what could possibly go wrong?"

Thousands of people have protested in London over changes to inheritance tax for farmers announced in the Budget.

Among those marching in Whitehall was TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson, who said "it's the end" for farmers, as he called for the government to change its mind.
The prime minister said he understood farmers' concerns and "wants to support" them but added "the vast majority" would be unaffected.

From April 2026, inherited agricultural assets worth more than £1m, which were previously exempt, will be liable to the tax at 20% - half the usual inheritance tax rate.

This has been the big story over here, I think its a confected outrage and the taxes should go futher.
Inheritance tax is only paid by 4% of folk . Most people can avoid it.
Basiically its a tax on income. The recipient pays it not the person woeking now.

These greedy bastards are getting 10 years to pay it at a reduced rate. Its interest free. They should just shut up and get on with it.

My sympathies are not with uppeer class toffs worried about a multi million pound inheritance.
Like this "upper" class toff greedy bastard -

20 days before the budget!! Yup, you got right, greedy Labour bastards.

What is the purpose of your account?

The greedy bastards are marching again today. Onviously they are underemployed on their farms.

I suspect that they have been inhaling some of their poisonous post brexit pesticides and it has killed their remaining brain cells.

Another genuine man of the soil.

The NFU are fucking useless. They agitated for brexit and alllowed shit like Clarkson and Lloyd Webber to hijack their protest. They dont have any support outside the tory press. Its time for a wealth tax now.
The rightwing media which seems to be all of it these days has and is promoting these nutters everyday on our radio and TV, they do it with International news, when was the last time you saw people like Owen Jones, George Galloway, or Syrians like Richard Medhurst or Americans like Colonel McGregor and Scott Ritter give their opinion on International events on BBC Question Time, the right have a grip on the Media and dictate the narrative with the usual lies and fabrications, it's so bad the are complicit in Genocide taking place in Gaza along with our politicians, they are lower than vermin.

I sometimes watch the bbc lunchtime politics show. They always have a tory and lab mp and then two "lay" people to make up the panel,
They are overwhelmingly tory/reform stooges.

I rarely see a green mp or a nationalist.Or a liberal. I expect the same is true on question time which i can barely watch.

The bbc should not be platforming extreme right views to the exclusion of other parties.

There are issues about this. Some farmers are barely making a living. If you pass your farm onto your son, say, and he has to pay 20%, that's a lot of money, and he won't be able to keep up the farm, so the rich will then take it.

But a lot of rich people are using agricultural land to stop paying inheritance tax.

Inheritance tax is, for a lot of people, unfair. The poor don't pay it, as you don't have to pay it under a certain figure. But people will devalue their home in order to not pay it, so they lose out. The rich end up not paying it because they put it all in a trust.

So it's problematic and needs to be fairer.

It's how the State keeps control of the narrative, but i have never known it as bad as it is now, thank god for the internet or the herd would be more ignorant than they are. i remember as far back as the 80s a big scandal was uncovered about the BBC when it came to light any new employee was being vetted by MI5, that says it all.

They have 10 years to pay at 0%. Its hard to see how it could be fairer.
The problem is the price they are paid by the supermarket. Chuck in brexit and shit trade deals. But no govt will ever do amything to put up the price of food.

Yes, there are problems with farming which means that poorer farmers are going to go under and the rich will take over their farms. Labour need to deal with all of that.
