If we left it up to liberals, there would be no free speech. They continually seek to silence those whose positions they do not agree with.
Just wait until Hillary is president. They will scream and play the gender card the moment anyone directs criticism toward her in an attempt to silence her opposition.

As the nation’s colleges seek to curb bigotry and promote a more welcoming and inclusive campus culture, the University of Chicago this year has staked out a provocative position in academia as a skeptic of “safe spaces” and defender of freedom of expression.

U-Chicago President Robert J. Zimmer said Monday that free speech must be upheld “as an enduring value of universities,” one that is “absolutely intrinsic to delivering quality education.” Zimmer said universities are obliged to teach students how to engage in robust and open discourse.

What goes around ... and herein are examples of why I chose to attend CAL:

Free Speech Movement - Wikipedia

In Jr. Hi a friend of mine related his experience after returning to civilization from visiting his sister who was in the Navy and stationed in the deep south. I was amazed by stories of rest rooms labeled "whites only" and drinking fountains too. Jim Crow laws didn't exist in The City, or so I thought. Later I learned racism and over all bigotry were everywhere in the county we saluted every morning as "one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

Still one functioning brain out there....
and a brave functioning brain.

Yes, in the whirlwind of political correctness, this guy really does have balls.
It would be easy to go along with these fascists and keep his mouth shut knowing he'll be safe for today, but this guy knows there will be a huge price someday ifvsomeone doesn't stand up now and fight back.

Wow, good for him. He'll be a target now, no doubt.

The PC zealots don't want to admit that college campuses, perhaps more than anywhere else, should be a dependable bastion of freedom of expression, where the voicing of all opinions and ideas can challenge and open young minds and encourage critical thinking.

Their current strategy is to claim that allowing opposing speech on campus might lead to violence and that they are merely acting on behalf of student safety. While you must admit that's a pretty good lie, it also infers that their students would get violent. Kind of an insult, but who cares.

Open, honest, critical thinking is the enemy of ideology, so we can't have THAT.
