RALPH NADER

For those who detest both Trump and Cruz, and consider Kasich an also ran, consider the impact Ralph Nader had on our nation, in fact on the world of today, by Nader's impact on the vote in the 2000 General Election. His numbers in Florida made it possible for five members of the Supreme Court to annoint Bush and Cheney as POTUS and VPOTUS.

Sen. Sanders has changed the conversation for the better, but he may very well do more harm than good for our nation.

Do those who support Sen. Sanders Ideas really believe he can pull off all that he wants,? Do they want to hear months of hate and fear from the right, claiming Sen. Sanders is the embodiment of Lenin, Stalin and Mao?

Long ago I said that Trump was actively fulfilling the role of Ralph Nader: to split the GOP vote so that Hillary will win. Oldest trick in the book. Old Ralph probably made a fortune off the GOP in backroom money. Now the tables have turned. I'm virtually certain Trump struck a deal with the DNC folks probably back in 2013 or 2014 leading up to today. "The art of the deal!".. lol..

You do realize that had Algore won his home state, Florida wouldn't have mattered, right? And the Electoral College determined the election, not the USSC. 16 years later and you still don't understand that?

Interesting. I hope it works. What did Trump get in turn? Building a new White House? Putting a casino on the Mall?

We want to hear those truths about his lenin ideology. No need to worry because your hero will be taking the nom.

I suggest you proof read your posts, or get a brain scan.

That was the smart phone omitting words. I could have corrected the error but I just thought most people could make that grammatical correction. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

Al Gore lost Tenn because of the gun control wedge issue. I understand the flaws in the electoral college, but had the five conservative justices not acted, the vote would have continued and now no one knows who would have been elected POTUS. What we do know is that Gore won the national popular vote and that the Sec. of State (Harris) was awarded a seat in the H. of Rep. for her actions:

Harris conducted a purge of voters in Florida prior to the 2000 presidential election; this purge has been found to have removed both eligible and ineligible voters. Harris, along with state Division of Elections director Clay Roberts and Governor Jeb Bush, used an inaccurate ineligible-voter list. This action resulted in eliminating a disproportionate number of African-American eligible voters from Florida voter rolls. According to journalist Jake Tapper, the problem went uncorrected for two years despite the warnings and complaints of elections supervisor Ion Sancho. As African Americans in Florida have strongly supported Democratic candidates since the late 20th century, the suppression of their ability to vote resulted in reducing likely votes for Democratic candidate Al Gore in the state and enabling the extremely narrow win by George W. Bush in the 2000 presidential election.[16]

As Secretary of State for the State of Florida (and co-chair of George W. Bush's election efforts in Florida), Harris was a central figure in the 2000 US presidential election in Florida. The election between Al Gore and George W. Bush was so close in Florida, separated by 537 votes, that a recount of the votes was called for.

After several recounts were inconclusive and the laws governing recounts were unclear, Harris halted the recounting process. She certified that the Republicancandidate, then-Texas Governor George W. Bush, had defeated the Democratic candidate, then-Vice President Al Gore, in the popular vote of Florida and thus certified the Republican slate of electors. This victory in Florida allowed Bush to win the election. Her ruling was upheld in the state circuit court, but was subsequently overturned on appeal by the Florida Supreme Court.

The Florida Supreme Court decision was reversed by the U.S. Supreme Court in Bush v. Gore. (2000) In a per curiam decision, by a 7-2 vote, the Court in Bush v. Gore held that the Florida Supreme Court's method for recounting ballots was a violation of the Equal Protection Clause of the Fourteenth Amendment. By a 5–4 vote, the US Supreme Court held that no alternative method for a recount could be established within the time limits set by the State of Florida.

The decision allowed Harris' previous certification of Bush as the winner of Florida's electoral votes to stand. Florida's 25 electoral votes gave Bush, the Republican candidate, 271 electoral votes, defeating Gore, who ended up with 266 electoral votes (with one D.C. elector abstaining).

Which is why Democrats will wisely not nominate Sanders.

All the legitimate recounts that had been done since then still showed Bush as the winner, with varying quantities of votes. You need to stop blaming others for your parties failures. Ralph Nader had every right to run for President. Just because you don't like him, or the result, doesn't mean he couldn't run. You should have picked a better candidate than Algore. Thankfully he lost.

He won the popular vote, and Harris suppressed the vote of likely Gore voters. An agenda not well hidden by the Republican Party.
