Two Weeks of Protest in Iran, Where is "Free Palestine?"

The problem is that when Trump steps in to actively assist the Iranian people against their terrorist government, the leftists will take the Terror Regime’s side just to keep Trump from looking good.

If Trump is so keen on liberating Iran, he should reinstate the draft and send an army to do it.

The reality is, Iran's people might be upset about economic conditions, but they fear chaos more.

Israel itself is pretty much a police state.
There are IDF EVERYWHERE constantly.

As such there is not much violent crime there at all. There is petty crime constantly. Mostly from the taxi drivers. Among my international travels they are the absolute worst I've ever experienced. I highly recommend ONLY getting in one that someone has called for you. Flagging a cab is the best way to get robbed.

We needed some Pepto Bismal from a pharmacy. And the bribes it took to get the controlled substance was insane. (Yeah, it's a controlled substance in Israel)
Not sure what you are talking about. I'm in Jerusalem and haven't seen an on duty soldier for days. Also, Arab cab drivers are perfectly reasonable and have, in my experience, been a viral resource.

Over the counter. Want me to pick some up for you?

I have zero idea what you are talking about. The civil police ARE IDF. Just a different division.

And when I was there they definitely had Pepto Bismal as a controlled substance only given out by pharmacists. But, because I was an American they charged outrageous prices for it which was partly a bribe for it. It was not on any shelf in the 2 drug stores in Tiberius.

I'm in the states now. Don't need it now that I'm cooking most all our own meals.

And Jerusalem, do NOT buy anything there. Wait until you go ANYWHERE else to buy the same souvenirs for literally a fraction of their prices...

No they aren't.

That's nice. Visit a Super Pharm today and buy some.

I'm looking at apartments. If I buy here, I'll shop here. Why buy souvenirs?

The answer to this is, of course, obvious. The Free Palestine movement was never about Palestinians. It was never about liberation or freedom. It was always about hating the Jews.

Great Post !

What are people supposed to be protesting?
^^^ Here we see PRECISELY what the OP was saying.

This liberal, who is on the front lines screaming about the “oppressed” Palestinians - and evil Israel - is now pretending that the Iranian people have not been oppressed by their terrorist, authoritarian government.

Dead giveaway that the protests for “oppressed” Palestinians has always been about hating Jews.

Still quite telling that on a thread about the Iranian people protesting their oppressive government, and discussing how the liberals who have been screaming about the Jews oppressing Palestinians are silent now, and how this discrepancy shows it is all about hating Jews….

…you enter the thread to complain that Jews in Israel take bribes for taxi rides.

That is nonsense as massive amounts of conservative young Christians are against supporting the Israeli government.

I guess it depends on which young Christians you ask. Catholics maybe as Catholicism has moved further and further left over the years as evidenced by the number of supposed Catholic Democratic voters. Protestants of all ages are much more likely to support Israel and the Jewish people.

I didn’t realize this, but I have noted in the past that the worst antisemites (among Christians) are Catholics, and particularly those who went to Catholic School.

It might be that the agenda of the left to smear Israel combines with antisemitism among Catholics, and the drop-off in support is the result.

I am a Protestant from the South. I am currently a Baptist but have attended Methodist and Presbyterian churches in the past. Baptists firmly believe that the Jews are God’s chosen people. It isn’t even in question. It is mentioned on a regular basis during sermons. I haven’t attended a Methodist or Presbyterian church in quite some time so can’t speak to their current stance. I know they have started moving further left as well by allowing homosexual pastors and stuff like that, so who knows.

The difference is that Iranians are being oppressed by their OWN government. That makes it a purely internal affair. It's not like we are doing nothing; we've been sanctioning the Iranian government since 1979.

Meanwhile, the Palestinians are being oppressed by a bunch of colonizers from Europe. And they do this on the dime of the American taxpayer, who is increasingly wondering why their tax dollars are funding GENOCIDE.

There's also a matter of scale. According to most reports, the Iranian government has killed 1200 protestors. Truly awful. It appears that the demonstrations are over, mostly because the opposition didn't offer anything except "Hey, let's bring back the Shah and hope the West doesn't screw us again!"

MEANWHILE, The Zionist Entity has been murdering Palestinians in Gaza for the last 2 1/2 years. The death toll is up to 72,000.

I wouldn't cry, but I would be concerned.

Yeah, you would be concerned because Hamas and other terrorist organizations intent on destroying Israel would lose much of their funding.

Or the scientists go work for other rogue regimes.

So your solution is the keep these scientists protected and funded by an organized, wealthy and radical government in Iran as opposed to working out of a tent in the desert? Brilliant strategy there.

If the Jews are God's chosen people, how did the Holocaust happen?

Was God on a break, rapping at the Water cooler with the other imaginary sky fairies, and when he got back to his desk, he was like, 'Hey, who killed my favorites?" I mean, Jews should be thankful for the godless Red Army, or there'd be none of them left.

The ironic thing is, Southern Baptists were as "anti-Semitic" as any other congregation before WWII. Probably worse because let's be honest, the only reason why the "Southern Baptists" exist is that they broke with the Northern Baptists over the issue of slavery.

So what changed? Well, the crazy stream that has infected conservative Christianity in that they think there needs to be Jews in Palestine for the Second Coming to happen. (Which is just silly, Jesus can't come back if he never existed in the first place.)

Meanwhile, Methodists and Presbyterians are realizing that Christianity should be about loving each other, not hating Gays and Arabs. Imagine that.

I guess it depends on which young Christians you ask. Catholics maybe as Catholicism has moved further and further left over the years as evidenced by the number of supposed Catholic Democratic voters. Protestants of all ages are much more likely to support Israel and the Jewish people.

Here's why the Catholic Church is "moving left". When I was growing up Catholic, waiting for my 18th Birthday so I could get the **** out of their crazy religion, the majority of Catholics were white ethnics from Europe - Italians, Poles, Irish, and some Germans. A few generations later, most of these folks have either become non-religious or have joined other churches. MEANWHILE, the Catholics are filling their pews with Hispanics, and since the Nazis have taken over the GOP, that means they have to oppose that on practicality.

I didn’t realize this, but I have noted in the past that the worst antisemites (among Christians) are Catholics, and particularly those who went to Catholic School.

It might be that the agenda of the left to smear Israel combines with antisemitism among Catholics, and the drop-off in support is the result.

Actually, quite the opposite. While what the Catholic Church's behavior during WWII was truly reprehensible (Pius XII was literally in Hitler's back pocket), after the war, they did nothing but bend over backwards, including Vatican II, insisting that the Jews really didn't kill Jesus, even though the Bible says they did.

The problem here is theological. If you take Catholicism at face value, the Messianic prophecies were fulfilled by Jesus. By rejecting Jesus as the Messiah, the Jews kind of missed the boat.

This isn't a new position, or even a theologically unreasonable one by the Church. In 1904, Theodore Herzl, one of the earliest proponents of Zionism, sought the support of the Catholic Church. The pope replied as follows....

“We cannot give approval to this movement. We cannot prevent the Jews from going to Jerusalem, but we could never sanction it. The earth of Jerusalem, if it was not always holy, has been made holy by the life of Jesus Christ. I, as head of the church, cannot possibly say otherwise. The Jews have not recognized our Lord; we therefore cannot recognize the Jewish people.”

Now, to me, this is all silly, a bunch of people arguing over who an imaginary fairy in the sky gave a strip of desert to.

Yeah, you would be concerned because Hamas and other terrorist organizations intent on destroying Israel would lose much of their funding.

Israel is on borrowed time because most of the world rejects what it is doing in Palestine. The best they can hope for is a two-state solution.

So your solution is the keep these scientists protected and funded by an organized, wealthy and radical government in Iran as opposed to working out of a tent in the desert? Brilliant strategy there.

My solution would be to stop ******* with Iran so it feels the need to make bombs.

I don't think they were working on a bomb to start with. Come the **** on, man, Bibi has been screaming, "Iran is weeks away from getting the bomb" since the 1990s.

The one thing the Jews are good at is getting us to fight their wars for them.

Being chosen doesn’t mean they are protected, free from suffering or morally superior. They are chosen to fulfill a covenant to live by God’s commands.

You just don’t know what you are talking about. My in-laws are Protestants from another country and have the same belief that the Jewish are God’s chose people. It is not a US thing, but you wouldn’t know that.

(Which is just silly, Jesus can't come back if he never existed in the first place.)

Definitively false.

Meanwhile, Methodists and Presbyterians are realizing that Christianity should be about loving each other, not hating Gays and Arabs. Imagine that.

Or, like the Catholic Church, they allow indoctrinated youth to infiltrate their leadership.

MEANWHILE, the Catholics are filling their pews with Hispanics, and since the Nazis have taken over the GOP, that means they have to oppose that on practicality.

Nazis? Thank for further confirming that you neither informed nor intelligent. Your indoctrination is showing…again.

I don’t care what lefties from around the world think. They are just as brainwashed as you, if not even worse.

Israel is not on borrowed time. Terrorism and radical Islam are scourges on the planet. Even indoctrinated folks like yourself will eventually figure that out.

My solution would be to stop ******* with Iran so it feels the need to make bombs.

You childish idealism is cute, but adults know better.

Isn’t it revealing how lefties defend Islamic Iran’s terror threats while smearing Israel (aka the Jews) for ridding itself of an enemy devoted to its extermination?

Seems like they are following a lot of silly rules for a Sky Pixie who doesn't do much for them.

Oh, is this going to be another country you won't specifically name? (Kind of like you won't name the Inbred State your double wide is parked in). The fact is, the "Protestants" of Europe during WWII were just as happy as the Catholics to turn their Jewish neighbors over to the Gestapo (AKA the OG ICE). Then, after the war, everyone felt really sad about it, like children who ate too much candy.

Not that they felt sad enough to give some of their land to the Jews. Let's give away someone else's land, they won't mind!!!

Nazis? Thank for further confirming that you neither informed nor intelligent. Your indoctrination is showing…again.
It it goosesteps like a duck, and heils like a duck, it's a duck.... er... Nazi.
