Two Weeks of Protest in Iran, Where is "Free Palestine?"

First the first time in 47 years, Iran is on the verge of toppling an oppressive regime that has crippled people's civil liberties and economy. Despite what may be a historic event of liberation, there has not been a peep from the "Free Palestine" crowd. There have no protests in support on the streets. Nobody blocking the streets waving Iranian flags. Nobody organizing sit-ins and demonstrations on university campuses, nothing from Greta.

The answer to this is, of course, obvious. The Free Palestine movement was never about Palestinians. It was never about liberation or freedom. It was always about hating the Jews.
And the anti-Israel protests were driven by hatred for Jews, as well.

Free Palestine isn’t a Mossad op.

Awesome post.

What ‘Pro-Palestinian’ Really Means.

Now that these double standards re Iranians are so obvious, honest people who will admit that the pro-Palestinian rallies on liberal campuses - where they set up No Jew Zones and yelled “Death to Jews!” - was driven by antisemitism.

It was an excuse to try to destroy the country because it is the only one that is majority Jewish.

Nope.

Palestine is about a colonial movement oppressing an indigenous people.

While the Iranian regime is brutal, it's the Persians oppressing the Persians (mostly).

Most people would be happy to see the Ayatollahs lose power, but then the question becomes, "And then what"?

There are people in Washington who think that we are just going to airdrop the Son of the Shah in there and people will be fine with that? Delusional!

If this revolution fails, it's because Iranians fear chaos more than they hate the Mullahs.

Wow? Seriously?

The main reason why the Shah got overthrown was because he spent BILLIONS on this ego parade while his own people were going hungry.

The Pahlavi Dynasty doesn't have deep roots. It only came to power in 1925 when a rogue general toppled the last Shah of the Qajar Dynasty. That guy was deposed by the Allies in WWII for being too Pro-German.

His son was deposed in 1953, and put back into power again by the CIA and British Petroleum. Until the Iranian people got fed up and overthrew his corrupt ass.

And here's the problem. When the Shah was toppled, everyone thought we were going to get a sensible democracy.

Didn't work out that way, did it?

Why do you think it's going to work out better if the Ayatollahs are overthrown?

Actually, most of the West did. But you probably weren't paying attention at the time, and heard some hate radio bullshit that the Shah feel because Jimmy Carter didn't support him.

quite right, just look what the Religious Right is doing to this country.

But you are fine when it's your Sky Fairy they worship.

Back to Iran. After the Shah fell, the Iranian people elected a sensible moderate named Abolhassan Banisadr to be president.

then Jimmy Carter made the bone-headed move to let the Shah into the US for chemotherapy (which the Iranians thought was the prelude to another coup) and we had the Hostage Crisis. Jimmy Carter absolutely fouled up the Hostage Crisis and further radicalized the regime, followed by turning a blind eye when Saddam invaded Iran. As a result, the IRCG seized power and threw Banisadr out.

CIA and/or Mossad.

Maybe some of our site Mossad members could confirm or deny.

There are many more. Please accept my apologies for not listing you.
I'm a Mossad member? That's hilarious. Should I make a list of people with whom I disagree and label them all "hamas members?"

No. That would be dumb, in exactly the same way.

Yeah, if Jimmy Carter wasn't such a failure, the mullahs would have handed power over to an elected government.

Sure thing.

Everyone who is smarter than gipper is in the Mossad.

That's about 95% of the entire planet.

How does the oppression of the current regime in Iran compare to what it replaced?

Let's ask GoogleAI:

"SAVAK (Sazman-e Ettela'at va Amniyat-e Keshvar) was the notorious secret police and intelligence agency of the Pahlavi dynasty in Iran (1957-1979), infamous for its brutality, torture, surveillance, and suppression of dissent, acting as the Shah's primary tool to maintain control against political opponents, including Iranian students abroad, with significant support and training from the CIA.

"Formed in 1957, it had its own budget, communication network, and direct access to the Shah, operating with extreme power until its dissolution following the 1979 Islamic Revolution."

It's worse. The mullahs are much, much worse.
