"More than two thirds of Israeli Jews support the government's decision to suspend negotiations with the Palestinian Authority after Fatah and Hamas signed a unity deal, according to a poll published Wednesday by the Israel Democracy Institute (IDI) and Tel Aviv University.

The monthly Peace Index poll found that 68% of Israeli Jews believe the decision made by the security cabinet two weeks ago was appropriate, while 27% disagree with the move."

I agree with suspending the talks, any decision can be made binding on all and Israel should wait and see who they are dealing with and move on from there.

To have sucessful " peace talks" there has to be " negotiations" It can't be all one way. Ask what the Palestinians are doing to " negotiate" and there will be no response

Definition of NEGOTIATE

b: to arrange for or bring about through conference, discussion, and compromise <negotiate a treaty> :D

The peace talks ended in March when Israel failed on the scheduled prisoner release.

This move is just showmanship.
You know: dishonesty by Israel.

In any case, decades of Piece talks have only helped Israel gain more pieces of Palestine and kept Palestinians occupied.

The Peace talks ended in March when Abbas made it quite clear to Kerry he had no desire to " negotiate" with Israel . It was either his way or the Highway . Typical hypocrisy and lack of honesty by the Palestinians.

There will be peace when one side totally dominates the other.

I was just reading about these "peace" talks today.

Palestinians quadruples the number or prisoners and wanted some in for several life sentences to be released.

Israel was only ready to release the previously agreed to prisoners.

Notice that when asked what the Palestinians have done to " negotiate" there is no response? That is why there will never be a " Palestinian state". :D

Israel wants peace and the Palestinians want peace (at least the majority on each side). The problem is the Palestinians keep getting used a chess piece in the struggle between Israel and the Arab countries in the region. When a true representative of the Palestinian people comes to the negotiating table there will be peace. Not before. The Palestinian people are suffering the greatest and have been for almost 70 years.

Would that be after the P.A. broke the rules then and went behind Israel's back to the UN and altered the terms of Oslo ?

The Palestinians were offered 98% of their demands back in 2001 and Arafat the *** walked out on the talks.

The biggest problem to that is the fact no Palestinian is prepared to sign his own death warrant by agreeing to peace with Israel. He/She would not last a year after any such agreement before getting murdered by some other faction inside or outside of palestine

Abbas quadrupled the list of prisoners and listed some that Israel had said before they were not going to release.
Israel was ready to release the 100 originally agreed on. Not the other 300 added at the last minute.

that is not surprising.

Any peace talk relying on Israel only giving, but receiving nothing- are doomed to fail.

Yes.

And thank God for that.

Such an action, releasing killers of the Israeli people, should not have been made in the first place without a referendum

Netanyahu may have agreed, but he realized that any further release 9especially of Israeli Arabs with blue ID, those who return to Israel and can again kill Jews without anyone asking) is just too much of a high price, and the people would have started rioting to change the government.

His freezing of "negotiation"() was right on time. The Israelis were not interested in this kind of negotiation, nor are we ready to pay with our lives just so the gentiles be happy with our defeat.

We stopped our leadership just in time. It was not the Israeli government which broke it's word, It was the Israeli people's victory over this shameful attempt of blackmail.

Notice how no Pro Palestinians are telling us what the Palestinians are doing to " negotiate?"

They must be running round like headless chickens trying to find some creditable link that show the Palestinians are prepared to negotiate without pre conditions or turnspeak.............
