Okay....still waiting for the answer to basic questions....

A woman is brutally beaten by her ex-husband in Britain. He beats her, stabs her with scissors and pulls out two of her teeth with his bare hands.......

He is arrested........well after the attack.......and is in prison for 4 years.

Question: What do the anti-gun extremists want this woman to do when this man gets out of jail in 4 years?

A woman in Britain is brutally gang raped in a London park......

Question: What do the anti-gunners want this woman to do after this attack? How does she keep this from happening again?

I have waited for a reply to these questions and they simply will not answer them.

Here is what an American woman can do...

Shortly after informing my work about what was happening in our house. The break-in happened. The local police got involved, the base got involved… everyone knew. As a result, my commander ordered us back on base because that was all he could do to keep us safe.

My roommate and I had been targeted and as a result, the only way to avoid us being put directly in danger was to be ordered onto a military installation with 24/7 security.

Soon after, I received orders to move down to Florida. I had gotten married and thought after moving I’d feel safer.

I was wrong. In fact, things got worse. Even at home, I didn’t feel safe. I had no way of defending myself. When it got dark outside, I’d go around making sure every door and window was locked. I couldn’t even sleep through the night. I had regressed to an almost child-like state of being afraid of the dark. I felt weak, afraid, even violated.
-----

My husband was getting ready to deploy, so he was gone most of the time. I bought a big dog, but that didn’t help. I was suffering from a form of trauma, and it was a major problem.

But then a friend, a technical sergeant, explained to me what a concealed-carry permit was — and it changed my life forever.
----------------
I quickly applied for my concealed carry and I was (until recently) able to sleep through the night again. I felt at that time that I could defend myself. I finally felt like myself — a young woman able to live her life to the fullest.
-----------

My civilian friends didn’t understand why I needed a gun, even though I went through a traumatic experience. And these women’s clothing companies with which I was working wanted to cut ties with me after I began posting online about my story and using firearms.

The strangest response was people saying they didn’t want me to be political. I didn’t think I was being political. To me, the Second Amendment isn’t a political issue. It’s a matter of basic protection. I was simply sharing experiences to get people to realize that self-defense is an option. Was I not exhibiting the ultimate support for women by empowering them to feel safe and secure?

I already answered that piece of shit strawmen question douchebag.

It isn't a straw man question...it is a real world question......that you can't answer.
I've already answered that piece of shit question that you're clearly obsessive over.

I just want an answer since you guys want to take guns away from law abiding people....it is up to you to explain how these women will defend themselves against these attackers.....

And again.....just give a quick answer that you already said you gave.......13 pages....I am not wading through them for you.
I'm no going to side with a gun fetish wacko to change the culture of the people of the UK just so violence by people with guns can reach US levels.

The second question is just as foolish and not of reality.

Didn't ask you to side with anyone, didn't ask you anything about anything else...simply asked these questions....

A woman is brutally beaten by her ex-husband in Britain. He beats her, stabs her with scissors and pulls out two of her teeth with his bare hands.......

He is arrested........well after the attack.......and is in prison for 4 years.

Question: What do the anti-gunners want this woman to do after this attack? How does she keep this from happening again?

I have waited for a reply to these questions and they simply will not answer them.

Keep in mind, in neither of the attacks did the man use a gun to commit the act of violence and sexual assault against the women....they used their bare hands, or a scissors......in gun free Britain.....

Gun laws in the UK are not changing, so she will have to move from the house that she was attacked in. And unlike Georgia, where an abusive ex-husband was given a gun back to murder the wife 13 hours later hopefully he moves on with his pathetic life.

Second one, she will have to get therapy for the attack and go on with her life.

More guns and the violence it brings is not the answer.

Thanks for responding and actually answering the question.

So...you solution to a violent ex-husband......

Move.

Your solution to a violent gang rape?

Get therapy.

Thank you for your answers.

Your solution to prevent each violent attack?

None.
And the gun violence rate in the UK is.... compared to our country.

Is growing.......the British police state they can't stop the increasing flow of illegal guns into the country.

So....as criminals in Britain gun up.....the regular British citizen will still be defenseless against criminals...especially women and the elderly.

Our gun murder rate is concentrated ...criminals murdering criminals...while our citizens with legal guns use those legal guns 1.1 million times a year to stop brutal rapes, beatings, stabbings, robberies and murders.......
That is a modeling statist of bullshit. With high rates of gun sales over the past couple of years, is gun violence increasing or decreasing as YOU claim?

And Britain can certainty keep gun violence where it has been.

In the U.S.........?

Over the last 27 years, we went from 200 million guns in private hands in the 1990s and 4.7 million people carrying guns for self defense in 1997...to close to 400-600 million guns in private hands and over 19.4 million people carrying guns for self defense in 2019...guess what happened...

Gun Homicide Rate Down 49% Since 1993 Peak; Public Unaware

Compared with 1993, the peak of U.S. gun homicides, the firearm homicide rate was 49% lower in 2010, and there were fewer deaths, even though the nation’s population grew. The victimization rate for other violent crimes with a firearm—assaults, robberies and sex crimes—was 75% lower in 2011 than in 1993. Violent non-fatal crime victimization overall (with or without a firearm) also is down markedly (72%) over two decades.

Access to guns does not increase the gun crime rate or the gun murder rate....
Do those statistics account for the aging of our population? Lower rates of lead based paint in housing?

What are the rates per capita for age groups?

Yes....now pretend that the actual argument you guys make no longer is the argument you make...

You guys tell us.....more guns will lead to more gun crime and more gun murder, no matter what other factors are involved......

That is your argument for banning and confiscating guns....

Then, when we show you that as more Americans own and actually carry guns...the gun crime and gun murder rates did not go up...

So now you change the argument, move the goal posts....

Sorry, you don't get to do that...

We had a massive increase in gun ownership and gun carrying in the U.S....and our gun murder rate went down 40%.......
Did gun violence increase or decrease when New Zealand banned guns 20 years back from a horrible mass shooting?

That has no link......and that doesn't follow the actual definition of mass public shootings.....

Do you question the bonafides of Mother Jones as a left wing, anti-gun source?

US mass shootings, 1982–2021: Data from Mother Jones’ investigation

Dating back to at least 2005, the FBI and leading criminologists essentially defined a mass shooting as a single attack in a public place in which four or more victims were killed. We adopted that baseline for fatalities when we gathered data in 2012 on three decades worth of cases.
-------

  • Here is a description of the criteria we use:
    • The perpetrator took the lives of at least four people. A 2008 FBI report identifies an individual as a mass murderer—versus a spree killer or a serial killer—if he kills four or more people in a single incident (not including himself), typically in a single location. (*In 2013, the US government’s fatality baseline was revised down to three; our database reflects this change beginning from Jan. 2013, as detailed above.)
    • The killings were carried out by a lone shooter. (Except in the case of the Columbine massacre and the Westside Middle School killings, which involved two shooters.)
    • The shootings occurred in a public place. (Except in the case of a party on private property in Crandon, Wisconsin, and another in Seattle, where crowds of strangers had gathered, essentially constituting a public crowd.) Crimes primarily related to gang activity or armed robbery are not included, nor are mass killings that took place in private homes (often stemming from domestic violence).
    • Perpetrators who died or were wounded during the attack are not included in the victim tallies.
    • We included a handful of cases also known as “spree killings“—cases in which the killings occurred in more than one location, but still over a short period of time, that otherwise fit the above criteria.
    • ----------------------
Our research focused on indiscriminate rampages in public places resulting in four or more victims killed by the attacker. We exclude shootings stemming from more conventionally motivated crimes such as armed robbery or gang violence. (Or in which the perpetrators have not been identified.) Other news outlets and researchers have since published larger tallies that include a wide range of gun crimes in which four or more people have been either wounded or killed. While those larger datasets of multiple-victim shootings are useful for studying the broader problem of gun violence, our investigation provides an in-depth look at a distinct phenomenon—from the firearms used and mental health factors to the growing copycat problem. Tracking mass shootings is complex; we believe ours is the most useful approach for studying this specific phenomenon.
Mother Jones uses a different criteria.

Here's you link.

List of mass shootings in the United States in 2021 - Wikipedia

Mother Jones uses actual criteria for mass public shootings from the FBI...your photo lumps in gang shootings...drive by, shootings at gang parties and night clubs........which are not mass public shootings....where a stranger enters a public space to kill innocent strangers...
It includes them because they're mass shootings.

You exclude them because you want those numbers ignored.

Nope...I don't ignore those numbers, in fact, I state them all the time....

10,235 gun murders in the U.S. in 2019....I state that all the time in all sorts of threads....

Mass public shooting deaths.....73 in 2019.

Of the 10,235 gun murders....over 70-80% of the victims are criminals. The majority of the rest of the victims? Are friends, family and associates of the criminals, hit during the attempt to shoot the actual criminal.

So if you aren't a criminal....if you aren't the friends, family or associate of a criminal....you are not going to get shot in the U.S.........your chances are almost zero.......

But you guys have to hide that truth.....you can't scare people with reality because reality doesn't support what you believe....

So...you mix gang shootings with mass public shootings to hide the truth.
You continued citing of 2019 mass shootings is wrong too.

This is a list of mass shootings in the United States that have occurred in 2019. Mass shootings are incidents involving multiple victims of firearm-related violence. The precise inclusion criteria are disputed, and there is no broadly accepted definition.[2][3]

Gun Violence Archive, a nonprofit research group that tracks shootings and their characteristics in the United States, defines a mass shooting as an incident in which four or more people, excluding the perpetrator(s), are shot in one location at roughly the same time.[4] The Congressional Research Service narrows that definition, limiting it to "public mass shootings," defined by four or more victims killed, excluding any victims who survive.[3] The Washington Post and Mother Jones use similar definitions, with the latter acknowledging that their definition "is a conservative measure of the problem," as many shootings with fewer fatalities occur.[5][6] The crowdsourced Mass Shooting Tracker project has the most expansive definition, of four or more shot in any incident, including the perpetrator.[7]

There were 434 mass shootings in 2019 that fit the inclusion criteria of this article, resulting in 517 deaths and 1,643 injuries, for a total of 2,160 victims. Compared to the previous year, there were 111 more incidents.

I used the actual FBI definition of a mass public shooting.....the Gun Violence Archive lies.....and uses gang shootings...two different types of gun crime.

Criminals shooting at other criminals vs. solitary gunmen targeting innocent peope in public places.....

You want to confuse the two in order to scare people into giving your side the power to ban and confiscate guns.....
They don't lie. They tell you they include all forms of gun violence in their statistics.

In regard to the FBI, I'm guess a non-former president one will change their measure of mass shootings too.

Okay...you have diverted from the actual thread quite a bit........

So...you have no real solution for the women I asked you about...other than move and get therapy........

got it.

When the violent ex husband gets out of jail in 4 years.....?

When the woman gang raped in the London park has to leave her home?

You have nothing.
I don't offer more gun violence as the answer like you.

Also, I very much suspect the claim of 4 years.

I offer effective self defense against violent criminals...by law abiding, good people.......

You offer ........... nothing. You give them the options of "move," or "therapy."
You offer more violence to try to solve violence.

A woman is beaten, stabbed with scissors, and has two of her teeth pulled out by hand.......her attacker, her ex husband was already on a restraining order.

He was arrested later, after the attack....will be out in 4 years.

Your advice to her to prevent him from doing it again, and carrying out his threat to murder her?

She should move.

The woman who was raped by multiple men in a London Park.......the advice for her...

Get Therapy....

My solution works. Your solution....does nothing.

Move, get therapy....

Again......

What does the woman do when her ex husband finds her?

What does the woman do if she is attacked again by one or more men?

Move? Therapy?
How does you solution work? Do people involved in war not die because everyone has a gun?

How does being armed help in areas where gang violence is high? Everyone whose shooting at each other has guns.

In Columbia, people have guns everywhere? How are they on murder rates? Mexico?

BTW how many mass shootings have we had so far this year?

Obama already did....he lowered the number of dead that create a mass public shooting from 4 to 3.....

BTW how many mass shootings have we had so far this year?

Mexico?

Americans use their legal guns 1.1 million times a year to stop rapes, robberies and murders..........

I gave 3 specific examples of women using guns to stop violent attacks.......

Normal people do not use their guns willy nilly......they use them for self defense.......

as I showed you, as more Americans own and carry guns our gun murder rate dropped 49%.....more guns did not increase the gun murder rate...or the gun crime rate.

You have nothing........

Your advice? Move, seek therapy? How does that work for the victims?

My solution works....your solution forces victims to submit to criminals....for rape, beatings, knifings, robberies and murders.

Okay...you have diverted from the actual thread quite a bit........

How does being armed help in areas where gang violence is high? Everyone whose shooting at each other has guns.

In Columbia, people have guns everywhere? How are they on murder rates? Mexico?
Most places in the US have low murder and crime rates.

The fact is just a handful of ultra violent urban areas ( not entire cities but more like isolated neighborhoods) have crime and murder rates so high that they actually skew the numbers for the entire country.

The disparity between neighborhoods is startling. An area of just a few square city blocks can have a murder rate that is 5 times that national average but a neighborhood just a few blocks away can have a murder rate that is 1 fifth that of the country.

The thing is everyone knows where the most murders are committed but no one wants to do anything about it.

Okay....still waiting for the answer to basic questions....

A woman is brutally beaten by her ex-husband in Britain. He beats her, stabs her with scissors and pulls out two of her teeth with his bare hands.......

BTW how many mass shootings have we had so far this year?

Mexico?

Gangs shoot at other gang members.....they have illegal guns no matter how you try to stop them, even in Britain where criminals are importing more and more guns to defend their drug turf and to protect themselves from murder and violence....

When an innocent person is attacked, the gun forces the criminal to stop......it stops that crime.

What about that is so hard for you to understand?

And again...

Your solutions...

A woman is beaten, stabbed with a scissors and has two of her teeth ripped out of her head by her ex husband using his bare hands...

he was on a restraining order.

He says he is going to murder her.

he gets out of jail in 4 years.

Your solution?

She should move.

Where? Can she afford to move, and can she move where he can't find her or other members of her family?

The other woman was gang raped in a London Park, the men were never captured.

Your solution to her ongoing fear and terror....

Get therapy.

So...when the next man, or men decide to attack her....what should she do?

Yeah...otto doesn't care or understand that fact.........they have no solution to actual crime other than ...move, and therapy.

The victims must simply submit to violent sexual attack, and brutal beatings and murder.............

Otto105 engaged in the discussion and answered the questions......any other anti-gunners out there interested in actually answering the questions?

BTW how many mass shootings have we had so far this year?

LOL counting drive by shootings and gang war fights again I see.

-- gun murder down 49%

--violent crime down 72%

BTW how many mass shootings have we had so far this year?

Yeah...otto doesn't care or understand that fact.........they have no solution to actual crime other than ...move, and therapy.

The victims must simply submit to violent sexual attack, and brutal beatings and murder.............
The answer isn't to offer the wild wild west as effective policy against violence.

Not Wild West......if you knew anything about the West you would know it wasn't wild....that is hollywood.

Again....27 years of experience in a country of of over 320 million people, 600 million guns in private hands, and over 19.4 million Americans who can legally carry guns in public....

Gun crime did not go up.....which shows what you believe is wrong.....it went down 75%........ do you understand that number...75% down.

Gun murder did not go up....which shows what you believe is wrong...it went down 49%....do you understand that number....49% down....

Crime in general did not go up....which shows what you believe is wrong....it went down 72%............

27 years of actual experience in a country of over 320 million people shows that normal people who own guns and carry guns for self defense do not increase the gun crime rate, they do not use their guns to shoot each other...

Your opinion on this issue is wrong.

Okay....still waiting for the answer to basic questions....

A woman is brutally beaten by her ex-husband in Britain. He beats her, stabs her with scissors and pulls out two of her teeth with his bare hands.......

He is arrested........well after the attack.......and is in prison for 4 years.

So...you solution to a violent ex-husband......

None.

So now you change the argument, move the goal posts....

Yeah...otto doesn't care or understand that fact.........they have no solution to actual crime other than ...move, and therapy.

The victims must simply submit to violent sexual attack, and brutal beatings and murder.............
The answer isn't to offer the wild wild west as effective policy against violence.

Let's not forget....

A woman is beaten, stabbed with a scissors and has two of her teeth pulled out by hand.......by her ex husband who is already on a restraining order....and says he is going to murder her.....

He is in jail for only 4 years....will be getting out in 4 years....

Your advice to this woman..........move.

That is what you tell this woman who has been savagely attacked by this man.........who did not use a gun, he beat her with his bare hands, stabbed her with a scissors, and then pulled out two of her teeth with his hands.....

The woman who was gang raped in the London Park. Your advice to this woman who now likely fears going out in public, who is still vulnerable to other criminals including rapists.....men who did not use a gun to take turns sexually assaulting this woman.....

When asked how she should prevent future sexual assaults....and other crime....

Get therapy. That is your advice....get therapy.

In the United States....what option would these women have?

Lancaster Woman Scares Off Bat-Wielding Attackers By Pulling Gun On Them

LANCASTER, Ohio - It happened along a walking path in Lancaster.

Dinah Burns is licensed to carry a concealed gun, but she'd only recently started taking her weapon while walking her dog.

Based on what happened, it looks like she'll make a point of carrying from now on.

"I think if they'd gotten any closer, I probably would have fired,” said Burns.

It was Monday when Burns was on a footpath near Sanderson Elementary School.

"Two gentlemen came out of the woods, one holding a baseball bat, and said 'You're coming with us'."

The men weren't deterred by Dinah's dog Gracie.

"I said, 'Well, what do you want?,' and as I was saying that I reached in to my pocket and slipped my gun out, slipped the safety off as I pulled it out. As I was doing that the other gentleman came toward me and raised the baseball bat. And, I pointed the gun at them and said, 'I have this and I'm not afraid to use it.'"

The men took off and so far have eluded police. Dinah posted about the incident on Facebook to alert friends and neighbors, to criticism by some.

"Most of the males' opinion was, 'Why didn't you shoot them?'"

Easy to second-guess a decision made under pressure, based on her concealed carry training, and police agree.

"To get out of a situation, back out, get out of it as much as you can without having to discharge your firearm."

"I will say it's a good thing to go from a place of danger to a place of safety, however you get that done,” said Sgt. Matt Chambers, Lancaster Police.

"Very thankful that it turned out the way it did, and hope it doesn't happen again, but I will be prepared."

What I want you to know on Gun Violence Awareness Day | Fox News

What I want you to know on Gun Violence Awareness Day

I correctly listened to my instincts; I had a feeling that my life was in danger in that elevator and prepared myself mentally for what was potentially to come.

I ran to my car in an attempt to escape and, before I could even get my entire body in my car, I was tackled by my attacker.

This man quickly overpowered me, stabbed at me with a knife, clamped his hand over my mouth multiple times, and repeatedly tried forcing me in the passenger seat of my car while telling me, “We’re going.”

The entire time this was happening, a rusted, serrated knife was being stabbed towards my abdomen and held at my face.

I had been hit in the face, thrown over my driver’s side console, and had rips in my tights from his hands trying to force my legs up and over into the passenger seat.

There are some individuals that think gun owners are “trigger happy” and wanting to pull their weapons out at the first opportunity. There is nothing further from the truth.

The night I was attacked, I fought like hell for my life before reaching for my gun. I kicked, I screamed, I had all ten fingernails ripped off and bloodied from scratching and trying to fight my way out of a literal life and death situation.

Ultimately, I accessed my gun, shot my attacker multiple times, and saved my life. He will be spending years in prison for what he did to me.

Using a gun in self-protection is not a decision one makes lightly; in fact, I never dreamed that I would be forced into a situation where I would have to do so. However, I also never imagined such evil existing in the world so that I would be powerless, wounded, on my back and unable to physically force my attacker off of me.

I owned a gun and had been trained on how to use it. I know how to safely carry and that a gun is a serious and significant weapon; it is not to be used carelessly. Naysayers and people with opposing opinions may try to undermine my situation with hypotheticals. I cannot answer these questions. All I can do is tell the facts of my story and the true account of how I saved my own life.

What I want you to know on Gun Awareness Day is that a gun in the hands of a potential victim is not improperly placed; it can be the only thing keeping her from being brutally raped and murdered.

Without my gun, I would not be alive today.

Guns are not the problem in America; men like my attacker -- who are willing to violently change one person’s life for no reason except for pure evil – are the problem.

Be safe at all times. Be aware of your surroundings. Trust your instincts. Always be able to protect yourself. Refuse to be a victim, and instead be a fighter and a survivor. Live to tell your tale and make a criminal regret the day he chose you as a “soft target.” My gun saved my life, and one could save yours too.

Yeah...otto doesn't care or understand that fact.........they have no solution to actual crime other than ...move, and therapy.

The victims must simply submit to violent sexual attack, and brutal beatings and murder.............
The answer isn't to offer the wild wild west as effective policy against violence.
The areas that are ultra violent today are the same ares that were ultra violent 20 years ago.

The powers that be know where the most crimes and murders take place and they choose to do nothing about it.

Where I live there is virtually no crime and there hasn't been a single murder in my county in almost 20 years.

So at least be honest and acknowledge these facts

...the European model of self defense, and the American model of Self defense

Europe has a model for self-defense?

Their model is to wave arms, look big, try to bluff, make a show, then run like hell and get sieged.
Then phone the USA to come help and pay for it all. We call it the speak loudly and carry a little dick model:

man-falls-running-away-from-wave.gif

Donald Trump exemplified the American model of self defense:

Speak softly, then if the bastards won't comply, overwhelm, kick the crap
out of them, then finally blow the fuckers to smithereens.

New Concealed Carry Report For 2020: 19.48 Million Permit Holders, 820,000 More Than Last Year despite many states shutting down issuing permits because of the Coronavirus - Crime Prevention Research Center

--violent crime down 72%

BTW how many mass shootings have we had so far this year?

US mass shootings, 1982–2021: Data from Mother Jones’ investigation

Dating back to at least 2005, the FBI and leading criminologists essentially defined a mass shooting as a single attack in a public place in which four or more victims were killed. We adopted that baseline for fatalities when we gathered data in 2012 on three decades worth of cases.

===============
Gun grabbers don't care about stats and factual data. They get a dopamine spike by making others bow to them.

In Europe, these two home invasions would have been much different....

This story is one of several defensive gun uses that you probably didn’t see in the national news media this week, including another attempted home invasion in Toledo, Ohio that didn’t turn out too well for the suspect.

Toledo police tell us that the man tried to burglarize a home that was occupied. He made it through the front door and was met with force when a female resident fired at him, hitting him multiple times.

That man then stumbled away and fell onto the front lawn where he was found by medics. Life-saving procedures were being done on the man as he was being put into the life squad. He was rushed to a hospital with critical injuries. We are told that he did have a pulse.

The woman who fired the gun was taken in for questioning as standard protocol. We are also told that there were several children inside of the home when the man entered. Nobody else was injured.

We do, however, know more about the circumstances of another defensive gun use this week. A woman in Houston, Texas was busy getting her three kids ready for school on Monday when her estranged husband showed up at the home and attacked her. In turn, the woman drew her handgun and shot her attacker several times.

How does you solution work? Do people involved in war not die because everyone has a gun?

How does being armed help in areas where gang violence is high? Everyone whose shooting at each other has guns.

In Columbia, people have guns everywhere? How are they on murder rates? Mexico?

In war, the pressure causing the violence is not from those carrying the guns and being shot at, but those above and away the actual battlefield, so is not an appropriate reference.
With gang wars, it is mostly the War on Drugs causing the problems due to the high profits but the need to conduct business in cash and without the ability to use banks.
Gangs being armed are still intimidated by others with arms, as long as it is only for defensive purposes.
Gangs are not evil or needlessly violent, they are just trying to survive and do business.
Mexico and Columbia have stricter gun laws than the US, has that helped or hindered?
Clearly that made it much worse.

We kill lots of people. They don't kill nearly as many. We should do what they are doing.

Take out inner city hot spots and our numbers plummet.
The gun problem in America is in a handful of inner city areas. It really isn't a problem anywhere else.

In Indiana, for instance.
2020 - Indianapolis - 218 gun homicides.
Lake County (basically a part of Chicago, but in Indiana) - 102
Those two areas added up to 320 gun homicides in 2020.
The rest of the state had 638.
Two areas made up 33% of all gun murders in the WHOLE STATE.
And I only looked at two city areas. No doubt near Louisville, KY in Indiana as well as close to Cincinnati is where probably another 20% or so are.

In Europe, these two home invasions would have been much different....

This story is one of several defensive gun uses that you probably didn’t see in the national news media this week, including another attempted home invasion in Toledo, Ohio that didn’t turn out too well for the suspect.

We do, however, know more about the circumstances of another defensive gun use this week. A woman in Houston, Texas was busy getting her three kids ready for school on Monday when her estranged husband showed up at the home and attacked her. In turn, the woman drew her handgun and shot her attacker several times.
You are more likely to shoot yourself or a family member than you are to shoot an intruder.
