• Abortion rights figured strongly in several races – in yet another sign abortion access is a key issue across party lines ahead of the 2024 presidential election.
• The GOP prevailed in Mississippi, where CNN projects Gov. Tate Reeves will win reelection after Democratic challenger Brandon Presley conceded the race.
• Democratic candidates made history in Philadelphia and Rhode Island. Cherelle Parker is projected to become Philadelphia's first female mayor, while Gabe Amo will become the first Black person to represent Rhode Island after winning the special congressional election. In other races, Ohio voters are projected to approve a measure legalizing recreational marijuana and Houston's mayoral race is heading to a runoff.

If you knew anything about politics (you don't) you would know that Beshear distanced himself from DC dimocraps at every opportunity. He ran ads about it. He said plainly and clearly that he was a Kentucky democrat not a DC dimocrap.

That, and the FACT that the Kentucky Legislature, their House and Senate are OVERWHELMINGLY Republican. Veto-Proof Republican. So Beshear only has the power that is given to him by Republicans.
