Trump’s Swearing-In Will Move Inside The Capitol Rotunda Because of Intense Cold Weather.

They have to be sworn in publicly be it inside or outside. Everything else that comes after is just tradition.
what does publicly mean??

they are required to have witnesses I think,,

and arent they already sworn in before the public ceremony??

The 20th amendment to the Constitution specifies that the term of each elected President of the United States begins at noon on January 20 of the year following the election. Each president must take the oath of office before assuming the duties of the position.

With the 2021 inauguration of Joseph R. Biden Jr., the oath has been taken 73 different times by the 46 Presidents of the United States. This numerical discrepancy results chiefly from two factors: a president must take the oath at the beginning of each term of office, and, because Inauguration Day has sometimes fallen on a Sunday, four Presidents (Hayes [1877], Wilson [1917], Eisenhower [1957], and Reagan [1985]) have taken the oath privately before the public inaugural ceremonies. In addition, President Arthur took the oath privately following the death of President Garfield and again two days later in the Capitol. Grover Cleveland is considered the 22nd and 24th presidents, having served two nonconsecutive terms (1885-1889 and 1893-1897).

WASHINGTON, Jan 17 (Reuters) - U.S. President-elect Donald Trump said his inauguration on Monday will be held inside the U.S. Capitol rather than outdoors because of severe cold.
"The weather forecast for Washington, D.C., with the windchill factor, could take temperatures into severe record lows. There is an Arctic blast sweeping the Country. I don’t want to see people hurt, or injured, in any way," Trump said on his Truth Social platform on Friday.

A good common-sense decision....The swamp that DC is built upon is damn cold in winter.

Doubly so when the wind is blowing out of the WNW at 15mph and it's only supposed to be 21 with snow on the ground.
Trump wimps out once again.

He dissed our fallen heroes in Europe because some rain might have made his makeup run. And now he's afraid of some cool weather. I thought this pussy was a New Yorker! He's spent too much time in Florida.

Obama had cold weather. JFK had even colder weather.

The orange Mussolini can't deal. And he's probably afraid his MAGA cult is too wimpy to attend in cold weather and he'll end up with a tiny crowd.

What a great harbinger of how the Pussy Donald's presidency will go.

Yes, publicly means witnesses.

7 degrees for JFK's inauguration.

And he walked from the White House to the Capitol for his swearing in.

Trump is never going to live this down. What a pussy.

I just hope all goes well. For those opposed to Trump and his policies keep it as a peacful debate in the public forum.

Perhaps Trump should sell a line of MAGA pom-pom hats to his wimpy cult.

"Some people are saying I would have had the largest inaugural crowd in American history!"
