Thousands of anti-Trump protesters expected to walk off the job Tuesday
19 Jan 2026 ~~ By Brian Niemietz

Tens of thousands of workers are expected to leave work early Tuesday to protest the one-year anniversary of President Trump’s second inauguration.
Nearly 40,000 people RSVP’d to participate in a 2 p.m. Free America Protest, according to Axios.
'Free America' encourages demonstrators to meet Tuesday wearing red, white and blue in locations including Central Park, Prospect Park, Washington Square Park and Trump Tower in Midtown. At least 800 events associated with that movement are slated for what’s shaping up to be a frigid afternoon in New York City.
“This is not a request. This is a rupture. This is a protest and a promise,” Free America says on its website.
Event organizers are also encouraging students to leave their classrooms to join marchers objecting to the Trump administration’s first year in office, which has included federal law enforcement being deployed in U.S. cities and unprovoked aggression toward longstanding allies.

Commentary:
The temperature is 21 degrees in NYC as I write. I doubt if there will be many New Yorker working people venturing out or gathering together to protest in Central Park today. In New York City? Not freakin likely.

Reminds me of an Old Andy Griffith episode where these old ladies had a still going but they only made moonshine on "holidays" they recognized, which was hundreds of different days of the year. It doesn't take much for the left to want to leave work - that is the ones who actually work. Yesterday was national popcorn day and I'm sure many leftists had to have that day off. Now we've got January 21 and I'm pretty sure they need off on the 23'rd for something too.

Perhaps your time would be better spent getting a prescription for Olanzapine.
That's the generic for Zyprexa.
New product as far as I'm concerned. TG, I never needed any meds of that sort.
Then there's you... just how much weight have you put on since use of the generic for Zyprexa?

Hopefully it is not a protest. It is a rupture. It is the final split to drive off criminals, sycophants and protectors.

In a country of 350,000,000, 40 thousand might walk off the job? To protest a duly elected President enforcing the law?

Be still my heart.

It's after 5 PM in NTC and it looks like everyone working is home or at least on their way there.
Protest.! guess the NY Daily News had it wrong as said. It's too cold and too mucj of a bother to stand in the streets freezing for illegal aliens.

Stock market is down 912 points.

Hycroft Mining up 23.5% today, up an additional 2.8% after hours, and 44.1% in the last month.
However, AreoVironment (switchblade drones) is down 16.7% today, but up an additional 0.6% afterhours, and still up 22.3% for the month.

The market is never really about the gross and great investments abound.

Could be a little profit taking by short term traders after a long holiday weekend.

But whatever, it's getting harder to tell when you include AI driven trading platforms that can analyze, calculate risks, make market decisions faster than humans, and don't need an excuse to support their activity.
