Trump's first 100 days: Expand the Supreme Court

Under the reasonable assumption that Trump wins, and has enough tail to take the senate…

The very first item on his legislative agenda should be an expansion of the Supreme Court.
Liberals have been screaming for it since the McConnell gambit, and have been standing up to scream it since Dobbs.
No reason he cannot give it to them.

They will, of course, suddenly oppose this idea - with ever fiber of their being.
He should write a bill that makes it a law that the SVC will forever be limited to 9. If they refuse to vote for it, we expand the SC. :dunno:

More personal stuff. Yuck.

I don't know what you get out of that. But if it helps a bit with your self esteem, that's fine.
I do not need help with self esteem. Very telling that you bring it up. Never too late to face your problems.

Why don't you go and dig FDR up. Ask him how that worked out for him? :auiqs.jpg:
The inconvenient truth is the nation stayed in depression for almost a decade under FDR until we purposely got into WW 2.

I could see Trump doing that, and pretty much all historical parallels would fall into place.

Maybe I missed it, but has he ever said he wanted to do that? In any event, even if he wanted to he isn't going to be able to do that. Even if the GOP takes the Senate in November, there ain't enough votes to do that.

Let's be honest, Trump and Biden have both said some crap that will never happen, because the filibuster in the Senate prevents most of the crazy stuff from getting done. Even if the GOP gets a 60-vote majority (which I doubt), I don't believe they would give Trump everything he wants to do. I can't say the same for the democrats, they already tried once to abolish the filibuster and I think will try again when they get the votes, plus the House and a dem president. And I think every American voter ought to think long and hard about that. IMHO, it isn't Trump and the GOP that is the bigger threat to democracy, it's the democratic party.

No. For the exact same reasons Biden shouldnt do it.

this age bracket is likely grappling with rising housing costs and debt right now, while also feeling uncertainty tied to economic policy under the new White House.

the average global market strategist saw a nearly 43% chance of a recession over the next 12 months.

An index of consumer expectations for the future released Tuesday by the Conference Board slid to its lowest level in 12 years, falling well below the threshold that signals a recession ahead. Meanwhile, Google searches during a period in March for the word “recession” hit highs not seen since 2022.

Trump is approaching his 100th day in office, a tumultuous period marked by market swings, social media outbursts and a number of constitutional crises.

Trump and his administration are currently publicly defying court orders to bring a man mistakenly sent to a mega-prison in El Salvador home.

How is Trump doing 100 days in?

President Donald Trump’s approval rating is sinking ― and not even Fox News can spin it.
The right-wing network, which is usually a safe space for the MAGA faithful, on Wednesday shared its latest poll numbers, which show the president’s approval rating is now far behind every other 21st-century president at a similar point.
Trump’s approval rating is 44% at almost 100 days in office, compared with 54% for Joe Biden, 62% for Barack Obama and 63% for George W. Bush at the same point.

The worst in the 21st century according to the latest poll numbers.

As to the original topic, he would have to add 6 to 10 just in the hopes of getting a win.

Which has a deeper down slope?

The Dow jones or Trumps approval?

WW

His polling is extremely high for an adult who had to come in and do the hard work that was required to clean the mess up that multiple past president's have left him.

Hard work and hard choices not usually popular with the entitled children, at the beginning.

I think when the dow goes down so do his approval ratings. When we hear CEO's are telling Trump shelves will be empty next month if he keeps doing what he's doing.

Trump is a bad businessman and even worse politician.

Here's what Trump is. You know all the things that are wrong with the world and we discuss it here on USMB? Trump is just a internet troll who has power. Gained it through social media and reality tv. He won over the dummies in our country. I always wished more people voted now I wish they didn't. LOL.

You know how a Right winger here says "If I were president, I'd just form a task force, round up illegals and gang members and just kill them? Or just send them to el salvadore? Or if I were president I'd privatize medicare? Or fix our trade war with China, Canada, Europe, Mexico? Or if I were POTUS I'd make the other countries pay for our protection. Or I'd cut off foreign aid? In reality, those are not good ideas or easy things to do. Not if you are making mistakes and not good at logistics. Don't have a plan. Haven't thought it through
