Trump's claims to Venezuelan oil are part of broader 'resource imperialism', experts say

I smell co conspirator....Braclets incoming....

I just handed your ass to you in the other thread, why ask for more?
Hilarious

You think that you did what?

Yes, but I think anyone who believes that bombing sovereign countries to get their oil is not engaging in imperialism is a MAGAt fuckwit.
VZ may have been a sovereign country before Maduro, but getting rid of a dictator, and "nation-building" using their own oil revenue isn't "imperialism", its restoring democracy in our hemisphere without US taxpayers footing the bill.

Imperialism involves a permanent takeover, which we are not doing, not in VZ, not in Iraq, not in AFG.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) under Administrator Lee Zeldin has launched 31 historic deregulatory actions, many of which target the permitting, reporting, and compliance burdens faced by refiners. This sweeping regulatory rollback is designed to:

  • Cut project timelines and capital costs
  • Encourage domestic processing over foreign imports
  • Empower states to tailor refinery operations to local needs

This deregulatory momentum has opened the door to renewed interest from industry stakeholders and investors alike.

You are a useful idiot. There is no incentive to increase refining capacity in the US. They are making good profit without it.

You deserve Chump.

At the lowest pump prices in a long time

Count me in.
You are included in the MAGAt useful idiot count.

You are a natural. You can't even research average US pump prices compared to a year ago.

Enjoy your Chump.

Gas prices fall to four-year lows as millions embark on holiday road trips

December 23, 2025

Fuel prices are down about 7% from a month ago, AAA data shows, and have tumbled roughly 43% from mid-2022 highs near $5 a gallon that followed runaway inflation in the wake of the pandemic.

Imagine being so liberal and such a Democrat partisan you start running interference for a major participant in the world's largest crony capitalist Big Oil petrocabal

When and where did that happen?

All I’ve seen are patriots standing up for the rule of law against a dictator who has illegally bombed an occupied a sovereign country.

It won’t be long before
Demented
Deviant
Diaper
Don
declares he has ended yet another war, this one between Venezuela and probably Lichtenstein.🙄

Useful idiots ignore the effect of winter on prices when they cherry pick their stupidities.

Nor are they able to compare prices a year ago, when that conflicts with the narrative they're slurping.

One has to admit, useful idiots are useful to their handlers.

Critics compare offensive to Iraq war, citing familiar mix of regime-change rhetoric, security pretexts and oil interests

‘Trump’s recent claims that the US should keep Venezuelan oil from seized tankers are part of a broader belief in rightwing “resource imperialism”, experts say.

In recent weeks, the Trump administration has escalated pressure on Venezuela, invoking drug-trafficking claims. This month, the US intercepted two tankers carrying Venezuelan oil and began pursuing a third, while intensifying its campaign against the country’s president, Nicolás Maduro.

Critics have compared the offensive to the Iraq war, citing a familiar mix of regime-change rhetoric, security pretexts and oil interests. This month, the Trump administration labeled fentanyl – which it says flows from Venezuela – a “weapon of mass destruction”.’

Security, oil, and drug-trafficking claims are of course a lie.

This is Trump’s pathetic attempt to deflect from a failing economy, the Epstein debacle, and his incompetent, chaotic regime.

And Congressional Republicans are complicit, refusing to restrict Trump’s lawless aggression in the region.
