You're lost on Opposite Street. Even forgetting the moral implications, tariffs are regressive and reduce economic value. High income taxes are productive taxes on unutilized money. Its about MPC - the marginal propensity to consume.

Lower-income households:

• Spend a much higher percentage of each additional dollar
• Often have MPCs around 0.8–0.95

Higher-income households:

• Save or invest more of each additional dollar
• MPC may be 0.3–0.6

It is shown in the poll that Trump is even lower than Biden or Obama were after their 1st year in office. In fact, it is the lowest rating seen in the last 50 years.

and today and after what has happened this week, with the Supreme Court ruling against Trump's tariffs (and his response to them), he has dropped even more. From last week poll, his disapproval rating dropped another 4 points (from 22% to 26%)



For whatever its worth to you, such negatives are noteworthy as to how Americans are reacting to what Trump is doing. They are not happy!

No, not really....we want people to invest more, not live paycheck to paycheck.

The idea is, that people, not Govt, is better at spending their earnings.
