I did not see you agree that anything was a lie. What post was that in?
She presented her finds, in 463 and I agreed in 481. I then referenced it twice with you in other posts, and you were utterly oblivious to information that didn't fit your preconceptions.
I did not realize that was you agree it it was a lie, but I suppose you could spin it that way.
So, what is the difference between Trump saying that the US does not pay the tariffs and Trump saying we will cure childhood cancer soon?
Intent.
Trump's intent with his comment on the tariffs, is to credibly dodge the negative side of his policy, to his benefit, politically. His claim is credible, because tariffs are pretty obscure and the average person might very well believe the bill is paid by the exporter. So, it is a credible claim, not just an exaggeration.
Trump's intent with saying that we "will cure childhood cancer" is not meant to be taken seriously. Anyone with even a layman's knowledge of the subject, knows that while advances are always being make, that claiming an universal cure is colos is silly. And even if a few people DO managed to convince themselves that a real "cure" is near term, that does not really reflect that much on Trump, nor benefit him significantly.
It is hard for me to credit that you do not know this, Gator.
You seem to me, to have put enormous effort into unlearning something important, to give yourself an excuse for recreational outrage over this non issue.
Why say something that is not meant to be taken seriously at a pep rally? What is the purpose of saying things that are not meant to be taken seriously?
If you significant other told you they love you to the moon and back...would you take them seriously even though they used hyperbole?
I would take her intent seriously, not literally.
It is hard for me to credit that you don't know this, like from when you were a child.
Well, good. We are getting somewhere.
So, what was Trump's intent with saying we would cure childhood cancer soon.
