No, it is not.
Exaggerations, hyperbole, ect, there is a whole host of words, that acknowledge that a lack of literal hard factualness, is not always considered a lie, with intent to deceive.
WHy are you pretending to not know this?
meaningless feel goof fluff has the intent to deceive, that is how it gets people to feel good.
Exaggerations and hyperbole all contain some basis of fact.
When someone says it is "raining cats and dogs", it is in fact raining.
When someone says they are "hungry enough to eat a horse" they are indeed hungry.
This is what Trump is missing from all the things you give him a free pass on.
Your analogy of "raining cats and dogs" is quite on the money. INdeed, it is "Raining" in that significant progress has been, and is being made on child hood cancers, with more and more of them being "cured" and real possibilities of this massively increasing in the relatively near future.
People should feel good about the recent and soon to come advances fighting child hood cancers.
Sure, if you twist "soon" to mean in the next 50 years, if we are lucky.
So, do you think there is a difference between childhood cancer and adult cancer?
Best case scenario could be far sooner than that. I don't believe it myself, but some of the research has some very exciting potential.
And yes, there are differences between childhood and adult cancers. Hell, there are real distinctions between young adult and the more common cancers you get in older people.
I used to work in the field. Not an expert by any means. But not a complete layman either.
Like I said, your analogy was quite on the money.
I have heard promise of the cure for cancers since I was a child, they are all just pipe dreams meant to make people feel better...which makes them dishonest
Dude. Give it up. I made my point. You can see that it is true. Just admit it.
Hyperbole, is not lying. Lying requires intent. Your analogy was great. When some one tells you it is raining cats and dogs, they are not trying to lie to you.
Admitting this, will not require you to support TRump or anything. You just have to work a little bit more, to find your actual reasons for opposing him, instead of the rationalizations the talking heads give you.
Dont' you want to know why you really hate him?
