In South Korea, Germany, Italy, the UK......they've all done better than we have. Its entirely possible to do better than the horrid and inept US response to COVID. As nation after nation has demonstrated.
No, nation after nation did not demonstrate. Per capita, the US is 8th in Covid deaths. Mind you, other countries count only real Covid deaths. In our country, if you get drunk and kill yourself hitting a lamp post and have Covid when you get to the hospital, it's labeled a Covid death. Trust me, I had a family member die of colon cancer two months ago. They ruled his death as Covid.
For example, other national leaders didn't lie to the public about the severity of the disease or its likely impact on the public. Trump lied repeatedly, telling the public that the virus was going to disappear when he knew it wasn't.
What lie are you talking about? Trump only gave his opinion in an attempt of reassurance of the American public.
Trump ignored the pandemic playbook that had been prepared for him.
Where is this playbook located?
Trump disbanded the pandemic response team.
That's a lie. Need the factcheck link, just ask.
Trump slashed CDC staff in China prior to the pandemic.
No, most of the staff slashed because of the funds passed in 2014 ran out were assigned to the HIV/ AIDS devision, not Covid. However Covid suffered the same fate. But even the former director of the CDC stated that having one person in Beijing would not have guaranteed we would have known anything sooner.
Trump didn't replenish the federal stockpile of PNP, despite YEARS to do so. Then laughably, blamed Obama for why Trump failed to replenish the supplies.
The stockpile was used by DumBama, and should have been replaced by DumBama.
Trump mocked mask use, refused to wear a mask himself, held rallies that infected 30,000 people and killed 700. His idiocy regarding masks was so spectacularly inept that he held a crowded, mask-free party at the white houses that put HIMSELF in the hospital.
No credible evidence anybody caught Covid at any Trump rallies. Trump made fun of a reporter much early on for wearing a mask when nobody else was wearing them, and Dr. Fauci in the middle of February stated masks were completely unnecessary. Need the video, just ask. Later in the debates, Trump made fun of Biden wearing a mask for political theater, and not out of necessity. You don't need a mask during an interview outside when you're 50 feet away from the guy interviewing you. That aside, Trump making those jokes didn't change the outcome of our problem by one person.
Trump put politics before public health, contradicting Fauci, Birx, and the CDC if they said anything that was inconvenient to his reelection.
When did this happen? It was very often during Trump's press conferences where he brought up Drs Fauci and Birx to speak to the public. They were never denied access to the media, nor their recommendations. Now if you have credible evidence he did, please post it. In fact one conference, he had the VIP of our Cleveland Clinic address the press. They don't work for the government.
And then there are the conspiracy theories. Trump pushed batshit conspiracy theories, pushed untested drugs as cures. He pushed conspiracy peddling 'demon sperm' doctors and even put them at the heart of the RNC. Trump retrweeted conspiracy videos about COVID.
I have no Fn idea what a sperm doctor even is. The drug you speak of is Hydroxychloroquine. HCQ has been used here and overseas with some success. Even a Democrat state rep credited Trump for saving her life. She was doing poorly in the hospital headed for doom, and demanded the HCQ treatment because of what Trump said. She explained she started to feel better within hours.
The drug has been tested. It's been used in this country for over a half-century for malaria. However given the dire situation we found ourselves in, we didn't have time for a five year clinically controlled study before we started using it. President Trump didn't say it was a cure. He never said it worked on everybody. All he stated is that there have been some pretty positive results here and overseas when used. Again, didn't kill one American.
HCQ is not an over the counter drug. It's prescription and used under a doctors care and instructions. Trump merely suggested that if a doctor feels it would help their patient, he has no problem with them trying anything to help.
4% of the world's population. 20% of the COVID cases. And at least 230,000 dead and counting. Massive unemployment. A devastated economy.
Our unemployment rate is not massive. Last month it was 7.9%. This month has not been reported yet, but the expectation was improvement. The US ranks 8th in Covid deaths. Again, many of our reported deaths are as phony as a three dollar bill. Look at the problem they have in Europe today.
Trump's COVID response is a national disgrace. We're pitied by other nations now. We're a laughing stock. Thanks to Trump and his hideous incompetence.
So what did you want him to do different? We are a people who's Constitution guarantees our freedom no matter what the environment.
Population-wide lockdown orders are "such a dramatic inversion of the concept of liberty in a free society as to be nearly presumptively unconstitutional" wrote U.S. District Judge William Stickman IV
