They were committees investigating community issues....he gave all committee appointments to people he knew, and when she resigned from her spot on the investigating issue, he replaced her with someone else he knew and favored.

They were not some high profile issue, like Hillary Clinton being appointed for a Committee the house or senate set up for Watergate... But Harris did have interest in both of these committee topics....it was a great experience she says, but it wasn't a career maker, by any means, then she went back to her prosecutor job that she took an approved leave of absence from after the two years.
