I just don't get poor and middle class Americans. Are they this stupid? They fell for Reagan I get that one. But the two Bush's were terrible.
I get it. Republican voters have been convinced the Democrats are the worse. I think they've swallowed a bunch of lies but that's the Democrats fault for losing their support. They should have done a better job explaining their vision for America. Instead the GOP controlled the message.
The border shouldn't have been an issue. The economy was great. Who cared if immigrants were seeking asylum. The boomers are retiring and we don't have enough workers to replace them. We need immigrants.
Republicans made a big deal about trannies in bathrooms and trannies swimming against girls in high school and college.
Republicans did a great job attacking affirmative action aka DEI.
But do you notice that from 1978 to now the rich in America just keep getting richer and richer while the middle class gets poorer and more middle class people are slipping into poverty? Or too many of us are not having kids because we can't afford them? This country is going to shit and it's Republicans and Corporate America's fault. They waged war on the middle class in the late 70's. They broke the social contract with workers and profits soared. They broke unions. And many companies started hiring illegals on Reagan's watch because he signaled to them he would not go after illegal employers. Bush too.
The economy was actually good on Clinton, Obama and Biden's watch. Republicans said what about uneducated blue collar workers. Today, are their policies meant to help uneducated blue collar workers? They say they are going to bring their jobs home and kick out illegals who are stealing their jobs. Is that happening yet? Are wages going up for uneducated blue collar workers?
