Politicians always over promise and underdeliver. This is no different really than the Obama promise to raise the minimum wage every year he was President. I don't have an issue with the 90 in 90 statement. My issue is that he refuses to poop or get off the pot on tariffs so businesses are stuck in a perpetual state of not knowing what to plan for.

Obama made no such promise.

He knew that the GOP Congress would never go along. Which is why the minimum wage hasn't been raised in decades.

As for Trump on tarrifs.

He is not going to "get off the pot". He will continue to dither.

He (and his base) were dumb enough to believe that the world would come to his feet once he threatened them with draconian tarrifs.

Instead, the Chinese called his bluff. After a while, everyone else did too.

There was no stampede of trade officials to DC to kiss the ring. Peter Navarro was wrong (not much of a surprise there).

Trade limbo will continue, until it is largely forgotten.

Trump got what he really wanted. A couple of weeks worth of sound and fury on social media and Fox Noise, signifying not much at all.

This is the kind of thing that makes this President, and the country he represents, increasingly irrelevant on the world stage.

Despite this issue, Trump has done a great job. However, it is tiresome that these people get away with this. When it comes to sex, and there is a lot to put up with, molesting children is way past the line of demarcation. Something is wrong here.
