Trump wants to offer a buy out plan for government workers to leave federal employment

Gross insubordination after this offer probably is one of them. I think that's the point, this is the rope, how many are going to 'resist' it into a noose?

Where is the 'gross insubordination"?

Of course not. You had no constitutional right to tell your employer how to determine the medical and health standards of his company.
Wrong. They had no constitutional right to force anyone to take an experimental vaccine. SCOTUS says so.

Sure, they did. Public companies have that right now.

Trump's right to change it is based on the law of who is in charge now. Trump or a future President could reverse it yet again.

I hope they don't. He wants submission to fear and intimidation. He wants to remake the government to be compliant to his illegal/unethical whims. It's past time to draw a line in the sand.

Now more than ever we need courageous people to stand in the breach.
So this is supposed to cost less than what the government will have to payout in litigation / settlements because he fired people who have civil service protection, or are members of a union (more to come)

We are talking about federal court's potential rulings, not individual actions. Once a court accepts a dissatisfied employee's filings, the court can stop any dismissal.

The admin can certainly offer a buy out program, which may become very popular.

Anyone who isn't following the president's agenda will not get their jobs back. Government employees don't have a right to sabotage the government. You folks are living in fantasy land.

what gross insubordination?...refusing to quit?....

The courts will decide.

not if you are close to retirement....
True. What a windfall for people who are a couple of years away from retirement anyway. They already have been working half-days at home for five years, and now they get $100,000 if they don’t want to go back to work and resign instead?

Lower activist judges may begin the process, but acts of sedition are not protected in the Constitution. The Executive belongs solely to the duly elected president. Get used to.
... as the Courts decide, not the President. He is the executive only not judicial ever.

Checks and balances, baby.

You might want to explain that. It is not the place of the judiciary to impede the executive by entertaining frivolous lawsuits brought forth by seditionists.

Anyone who has read the Constitution understands its the judiciary that makes that decision. Remember the President's attorneys are involved in court cases.

"Frivolous" and "seditionist" are MAGA traits.

If 10% of eligible workers took Trump’s offer, the government would save only $10.8 billion annually.

In federal budget terms, that’s a drop in the bucket. To put this in perspective, extending the Trump tax cuts would cost $400 billion per year, and the federal deficit is projected to hit $1.9 trillion in 2025. Personnel cuts alone won’t close the gap.

Finally, these cuts could backfire on Trump himself. While the move may appear bold, it plays into the longstanding narrative that Washington bureaucrats cost a lot of money to the taxpayer and obstruct presidential priorities. In reality, most civil servants simply implement the law. When they don’t do their jobs well, Americans notice.

These firings and or buyouts are strictly for show.
