One, "seeing how it goes" would require transparency that we don't get from this administration. If asked by press, they can just lie or reply with "your mom". If anyone is asked under oath, they can just refuse to say anything.

Second, it's pretty outlandish to think we'd see an independent counsel. For starters, he believes they're unconstitutional but also we haven't seen any independent counsels to prosecute any of his current political opponents.

Third, the federal cases against him only went away because he became president, not because they were found lacking in factual basis. It's pretty absurd to believe you're entitled to millions of dollars because the FBI had to execute a search warrant to recover highly classified documents hidden in your basement.
