Praktisch betrifft seine Ablehnung die Nordflanke der NATO (Dänemark, Deutschland, Norwegen, Schweden, Frankreich, Großbritannien, die Niederlande und Finnland). Das sind die Länder, die Russland am Entschiedensten entgegenstehen. Für Großbritannien selbst tut sich mit dem US-Russen Donald Trump damit eine Existenzfrage auf. Fällt der Widerstand dieser Länder aus gewinnt Putins Russland.
