You think about that. Witkoff and Jarad offered Iran free nuclear fuel if they gave up the highly enriched uranium, they said "no"

Just Get Out! Now!

As is becoming clearer from President Trump’s own statements and those of his staff, along with press reporting, the US has launched a major war without the input of the experts we pay to advise the President on such matters. The State Department, Pentagon, National Security Council Staff, Defense Intelligence Agency, and NSA were simply bypassed because, as White House Spokesperson Karoline Leavitt said, President Trump “had a feeling” Iran would attack.

The President’s real estate developer son-in-law and friend reinforced that “feeling” when they returned from the second round of talks with the Iranian foreign minister and his team. However, as the news outlet Responsible Statecraft (RS) reported over the weekend, both son-in-law Jared Kushner and friend Steve Witkoff appear to have mis-represented those talks in a way that helped push President Trump toward war. No State Department officials were on hand to ensure the reporting was accurate.

Also, arms control experts at home, according to the RS report, believe that “the duo appeared to have fatally misunderstood a series of basic technical and historical matters” regarding Iran’s nuclear program leading to inaccurate information conveyed to the President.

Iran was nowhere close to a nuclear bomb, experts say
Confusion on whether Iran truly needed only “two weeks to four weeks” to make a nuclear weapon, as President Donald Trump suggested on Monday, hangs over the ongoing U.S. and Israeli war on the Persian Gulf nation. Nuclear experts call this claim unlikely—but the confusion may stem from some basics of atomic chemistry.

“There was no evidence that Iran was close to a nuclear weapon,” says Jeffrey Lewis of the James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies. His comment echoed those of other experts after the war’s start, as well as statements from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) chief Rafael Grossi at that time and in 2025 and last year’s “threat assessment” report by U.S. intelligence agencies.

According to an IAEA estimate, as of June 2025, Iran possessed 441 kilograms of 60 percent enriched uranium, where the percentage refers to the share of the isotope uranium 235 (U 235) found in the material. That would be enough for 10 nuclear weapons if the material could be enriched further to full 90 percent weapons-grade concentrations, according to the IAEA. That further enrichment would take a matter of weeks in a fully functioning Iranian nuclear complex, perhaps explaining the time line within Trump’s declaration.

That step alone doesn’t equal a bomb, however. And Iran’s main enrichment capabilities were “completely and totally obliterated,” according to Trump himself in June, after the U.S. bombed three underground Iranian facilities. The administration’s special envoy to the Middle East Steve Witkoff nonetheless claimed on March 3, after the start of the current war, that Iran had the capability to make 11 nuclear bombs. Trump administration officials reportedly failed to include nuclear technical experts in their negotiation teams with Iran prior to the war, adding to the uncertainty. If Iran really had rebuilt these facilities, that might have led—over months and not weeks—to the nation resuming its uranium enrichment, Lewis says. “But this is all ‘if,’ ‘maybe’ and ‘later,’” he adds.

Iran was nowhere close to a nuclear bomb, experts say

Although President Trump has claimed Iran was weeks away from developing a nuclear weapon, much more work was needed for the country to do so

Trump, Iran threaten power, energy targets as war escalates

'Open Hormuz Or Will Destroy Power Plants': Trump Warns Iran, Tehran Responds

I fully support this ultimatum. Get that oil moving!!
Lardass Trump is at MAL for a four day golf vacay as the M.E. is on fire.

He probably had to meet with his bagman.

So you support Iran having nukes and ICBMs? I don't.

What "rest of the world"? I don't see anyone coming to defend Iran, do you?

Are you a complete moron??? Of course you support any stupid thing Trump does.

I don't see anyone coming to help Trump either. Your criminal President can't get a cup of coffee from ANYONE other than the criminal Netanhayu or murderers like MBS. This is what happens when felons get put in charge of a strong military.

Congratulations on becoming an international parriah.

According to the comprehensive agreement, for at least 15 years, Iran will only enrich uranium up to 3.67 percent (uranium enriched at 20% or lower is considered low enriched uranium (LEU); uranium enriched above 90% is weapons grade.)

This does not, however, mean that on day one of year 16, Iran will have enough weapons-grade uranium to build a bomb. Yes, after 15 years Iran could begin enriching uranium beyond 3.67 percent. But without this deal, Iran could head for a bomb tomorrow.

Some aspects of the agreement will last 25 years, including the monitoring of Iran’s uranium mines and supply chain. Other aspects, such as the implementation of robust IAEA safeguards and access to investigate suspicious sites for illicit nuclear activity, are permanent. Regardless of what specific restrictions are lifted, Iran is still prohibited from pursuing nuclear weapons. Any activity that is clearly not intended for “peaceful use” (i.e. highly enriching uranium) will raise red flags and trigger a response from the international community.

They AGREED to give up their nuclear fuel and Trump bombed them anyway.

Didn't vote. My choice is don't care. Don the con is a pathological liar, so what he says does not matter. It is what he does. Prepare for what he says, but don't count on it. And with such a threat you don't have much time to prepare, but...
Trump did not TACO on Iran did he?

If I was Iran I'd believe Trump would hit their powerplants if the strait is not reopened.

They were not working on nukes. Trump's own team said that, MAGAt. 60% enriched was to be used for negotiation. But Trump don't care about 60%. Long range missiles are self-defense from the Jews/ USA taking over the Middle East. Stop the lies MAGAt!
1. Of course they were working on nukes, or they would have taken the free fuel rods.

2. Since when are long-range ICBMs defensive? You think we want to take over the ME? You one of them mullah folks?

Trump is already saying he's going to pull out and leave NATO to clean up his mess, so it's already happening.

If you were in Iran you wouldn't even know about this threat because there is no internet or outside news sources.

Your decline from a reasonable Trump supported to a full on Cultist is complete.

Israel did an oooops and hit a gas plant. Iran has lots more. No worries.

Iran countered with two attacks near Israel's main nuclear facility.

You keep thinking that Iran is helpless to protect itself here. Do your brains leak out your ears while you sleep?

This isn't a game you can win here.

If this happens, it may lead to a holocaust of unimaginable proportions.

We hit their critical infrastructure for not giving us our way, Iran will then destroy power plants and desalinization facilities leading to a catastrophic disaster for humanity.

Iran War on the Brink of Major Regional Escalation /Lt Col Daniel Davis

The Iranian people need to overthrow their government.
And no doubt the Russians, Chinese and Iranians think the American people should overthrow theirs as well.

But the fact of the matter is, the laws and politics of other nations are not the business of anyone outside of those nations,.

If the Iranians overthrow their government, after all America and Israel has done to that population, likely the next government they have will be even MORE hostile to us.

We need to just leave people alone.

If we destroy the powerplants the mullahs will have bigger problems than the Strait of Hormuz.
If we do that, they will respond in kind with the destruction of GCC's and Israel's same critical infrastructure.

How far up this escalation ladder will be enough for you?

Are we not done until Israel lays a few nukes across Iran?

"Regime change" isn't always a good option. Russia under Czar rule was replaced with Bolshevik rule. Horrible result.
America under Bush Jr. was bad but it was much worse under Obama.

Iran's current protestors are Iran's version of Antifa. Are we sure we can an Iran/Antifa coalition?
Really? Obama could have gotten a third term if it was allowed. 8 scandal free years is pretty good as presidencies go. I remember how people hated Obamacare but liked the Affordable Care Act. :)

I saw CNN pull this "ENERGY" stunt this morning too. Conflate oil infrastructure and electrical power as "energy".

CNN had some bogus GOP bimbo who couldn't answer the "energy" question either. Here is the answer:
1. Do not damage the oil infrastructure. Iran will need oil revenue after the war. (more oil means lower prices)
2. Open the strait of Hormuz or the electric powerplants get "obliterated". (no water is no fun)

Two separate "energy" components, oil infrastructure, and powerplants, two very different things, except to the MSM propaganda machine.
Sarah Palin didn`t like MSM so you stand with Alaska`s MENSA Society member. Can you see Russia? :D

Are we not done until Israel lays a few nukes across Iran?
"Few nukes" won't defeat Iran. Anyway, Americans hardly care about Iranian retaliation on Israel and Arabs from Epstain coalition. But if Iran, as North Korea, demonstrate ability to deliver nukes in the USA itself, it might deter the USA.
