Trump Told by Alan Dershowitz Constitutionality of Third Term Is Unclear

Trump shouldn't run again. He's already done enough to join the pantheon of US presidents with Reagan and those on Mount Rushmore.

Time to pass the baton to JD Vance who, some catastrophe not-with-standing, is a sure bet in 2028 especially considering the wreck of the Democrat party.

After years of Democrat lawfare against Trump, the Democrats deserve a third Trump term. His sons will run too someday.
They won't get it. Thank God, and the US Constitution. The only people that are unclear about the legality of a third term are MAGA trumpers and Alan Dershowitz. Maga trumpers are the 33% of Republicans that still approve of trump, but that isn't enough and will not "trump" the Constitution. Courts are among those that have had just about enough of the idiot, Donald.

What if, Trump is vice president and the president reigns?

He's the best we got. Give him 3 if he doesn't lose it, like Joe did.

I think Trump will be quite happy with two. I don't see Trump putting himself through another campaign. He deserves to enjoy life a little. And we need newer, younger, fresh blood in the GOP to revitalize it and attract more younger people.

The 12th Amendment states that no one who is constitutionally ineligible to be president can be vice president.

Interesting.
I'd never seen that take before. 👍
I don't want another Trump term. Not only do I think it's Constitutionally forbidden, he's old. Yes, he has the energy of five people but it's time for a younger person to take over the reins.

"Thanks, Mr. President. I'll take it from here."

He's not ineligible. He just can't be elected to the office of president more than twice.

Candidates for president of the United States must meet basic requirements. Learn about the criteria to run for president.

The U.S. Constitution states that the president must:

Be a natural-born citizen of the United States
Be at least 35 years old
Have been a resident of the United States for 14 years

Very last sentence in the 12 Amendment to the US Constitution.

Just keep your attention focused on this six. LMAO. As long as he can keep you focused on this type of nonsense, you won't be obstructing progress. Ever hear of the 22nd amendment?

Vance wins with Trump as VP then steps down.
Nope. Would require a Constitutional amendment to get rid of the last sentence in the 12th Amendment. Not happening. Remember, trump only has approval of 33% of Republicans, as it is. No way, he would be able to get a constitutional amendment to worm his way back into the presidency through a back door. So, between the 22nd Amendment and the 12th Amendment, we are rid of him after 2028, if he lasts that long, due to the 25th Amendment. I would not rule out Article II, Section 4 of the U.S. Constitution as a limiting factor, depending on what could come out.

It's up to five judges.
