Given that fact why would he have agreed to release those files? It just doesn't make logical sense. It's far more likely (IMO) that the US intelligence apparatus was involved in what Epstein was doing, and he wasn't aware of that until he came back into office and was informed of it when the admin was moving in the direction of releasing those files.
