Miriam Adelson Pledges $250 Million for Trump 3rd Term

No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice...'.
But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States

Could he run as the vice president and then take office if the president resigned?

Be very afraid alang1216
GoogleAI Overview has this take on Trump running as VP in 2008:

"While theoretically discussed as a 'loophole,' legal experts and Donald Trump himself have indicated he likely cannot run as Vice President in 2028 to bypass the 22nd Amendment's term limits because the 12th Amendment bars anyone constitutionally ineligible for President from being VP, and Trump is term-limited from a third presidential term."

I'm not sure Trump's ego would ever allow him to accept serving as a VP, and his age would also be a detriment to extending his time in DC

Have no idea what will happen, looks like many with the BILLIONS OF DOLLARS
like the return $$$ they are getting from their money donations, to keep this administration going there way?????
We are All out siders.

I think it is the GOP who should be afraid, not me. They may never be the same.
When it comes to their core constituents, I don't think either party is too worried about losing them regardless of what they do. Unless of course they don't demonize the other party enough.

In 2024, Trump picked up a lot of non-traditional GOP voters, e.g., blue-collar union types, Blacks, and Hispanics. If Trump loses them, so will the rest of the GOP.

Donald Trump says Adelson pledged $250m as pair teases third term | The Jerusalem Post

"US President Donald Trump said that Miriam Adelson pledged $250 million, as the pair teased a third term for the president at the White House annual Hanukkah candle-lighting on Tuesday.

"Adelson, an Israeli-American philanthropist, was the wife of the late billionaire Sheldon Adelson and a prominent donor to Trump's 2024 campaign

"Adelson spoke at the Hanukkah event, noting that she had spoken with Trump's lawyer, Alan Dershowitz, about the legality of a third Trump term. "

Trump has previously ruled out running for a third term possible after reading the 22 Amendment:

Google Overview:

"The 22nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, ratified in 1951, explicitly states: 'No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice...'. Having been elected in 2016 and again in 2024, he is constitutionally ineligible to run for election a third time. "

Few thought he could win in 2016.
Even fewer thought he could win after January 6th.
Can he find a way to run in 2028?

She's invested $250MM into Trump 47 and its going to cost the government $200B and will cost American that many times over

Why do Jews scare you so much?
OP will soon say he is "only" against Z .

He also uses Qatar propaganda linked sites (including "newarab") as well as Iranian government (.ir) in his posts.

Technically not quite true.

The operate words of the 22nd are: "No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice..."

The 22nd does not preclude assuming the office of the President, it precludes being elected to the office of the President.

That means there could be, possibly, a "Vance/Trump" ticket in 2028. Vance gets elected President, once sworn in he resigns and Trump becomes President for a 3rd Term.

Will it happen? No.

WW
Trump is not eligible to be vice president, either

The constitutional rules for eligibility to run for vice president explicitly and unambiguously states that a requirement to be vice president is that one must be eligible to be president.

Since Trump is NOT eligible to be president he is ALSO therefore not eligible to be vice president. Period.

The only way he could conceivably be president for another term would be to completely repeal the 22nd amendment of the Constitution.

Which would require 3/4 of the states to approve it

In other words, never gonna happen

Yes, but the office of VP has its own constitutional requirements.

One of those requirements is that the candidate for VP MUST BE ELIGIBLE TO BE PRESIDENT

Therefore…..

She can’t take it with her and Hell is the real oven these people outta be worried about.
The GOP may lose a lot of money when Miriam joins Sheldon:

Oligarchs and the Trump Admin: Sheldon and Miriam Adelson

"The Adelsons are GOP megadonors, and some of Trump’s largest backers since 2016.

"They donated $133 million in 2016, $90 million in 2020, and $113 million in 2024.

"The Adelsons also spend colossal sums on Senate and House races, supplying 'more than one-third of the funding for Congressional Leadership Fund and nearly one-quarter of Senate Leadership Fund’s' funding between 2016 and 2021.

"Both groups are the top GOP super PACs for the House and Senate, respectively. In total, the Adelsons gave about $280 million to groups fundraising for House and Senate races in that time frame."
