Yeah, you're not a RINO.
lol
That's a whole lotta hate goin' on that I usually hear from the rabid left.
I see the difference between hard working businesses making stuff and providing services (which IS the Republican base), and the bloodsuckers on Wall Street looking for the easy meat to pick off by screwing people over.
BUt by all means, nominate Romney and watch how fast we see those AmPad workers come out of the woodwork.
Narrow minded.
"Hard working businesses making stuff and providing services" need their stock sold, capital for expansion and short term credit.
Without Wall Street where do they go?
China.
Wall Street has helped keep MORE American business here than anyone.
You have an axe to grind. AmPad under Mead had already announced their 1000 job cut BEFORE Bain bought them. Joe, guess why Mead already had that done before the sale? Employees are ALWAYS the highest variable cost and highest cost period in those businesses. Stock price goes up when you fire folks. Capitalism. Socialism does not work that way.
Ampad had acquired far too much capacity in over 20 locations in 14 states. Bain, answering to stock holders which OWN THE COMPANY under our capitalistic system, closed two plants to increase dividends. Smart move every time as those that receive dividends are 90% elderly and middle class.
One of those plant closures was because of a shut down UNION STRIKE. Imagine that.
Bain's debt accumulation was 300 million and the unions, in their socialistic ranting, cliamed that is what contributed to the demise of AmPad. Silly them, that reperesented less than 6 months revenue there, a pittance of debt, similar to someone making 30K a year taking on a 15K car loan.
The unions know that but that does not jive with their anti capitalistic myths they spread taking $$$ from ALL union members which comprise about 60/40 split Democrat/ Republican while giving 100% to support Democratic candidates and their anti business advertising as illustrated in the recent vote in Ohio.
Top it off the fact is that the AmPad bankruptcy was involuntary, forced on Bain. They didn't want it as Bankers New York Trust Company and other creditors forced it, not Bain.
And this was EIGHT YEARS after Bain's acquisition and a year after Romney left.
And the bankruptcy actually was good but the unions will not tell the truth on it. AmPad now is 20 times larger employee wise than when Bain acquired them. TWENTY TIMES LARGER with over 4000 employees. When they went bankrupt Bain held about 30% of the stock, took a huge hit and loss and you claim that was good for Bain and they wanted to do that?
You must have been reading the Boston Globe which is fully in the pockets of AFL-CIO and spreads lies faster than stink rises off of shit.
In the long run Ampad DID NOT GO OUT OF BUSINESS, it simply changed ownership, it did not lose 385 jobs, IT GAINED 3500.
Out of the hundreds of acquisisitons Bain made only 3 or 4 went sour.
Capitalism. Risk. No one is guaranteed a job or a profit.
