I was under the impression he was humilated beyond belief with the whole birther thing. Wow. Well, at one point, even he was leading the GOP race.

NOt really. Most Americans who think Obama wasn't born here still don't think so.

He's filed bankruptcy 4 times. The man is slimey. Many of the buildings that have his name on them are not owned by him because of the bankruptcies.. It's all a facade.

YOu know what, though, when one party is running a FAILED president and the other one forces down a weird Mormon Robot that most of the party doesn't really want, you kind of open yourself to the "not serious candidate".

Let's look at Ross Perot. Man was certifiably nuts. But he also shook up the status quo and got issues discussed that should have been discussed and weren't.

So when you have a debate that will be Romney and Obama discussing how to package socialism and not call it socialism, you have Trump as the skunk in the room.

Perot built his business on a different style of marketing. He hired a pant load of Nam vets at EDS in the late 60s building a family of veterans, their extended families and the good will that goes with that. I believe the original offering when it went public was 10 bucks a share and went to 100 within 24 hours. During the Iranian hostage crisis some of his employees were held over there. So what does Ross do? He goes to his Nam vets and they go over there and rescue them.
Sort of. They could not find them but their intelligence knew there was going to be a way to extract them from the riots at the prison and that team did.
Do not see Donald Trump being able to pull that off, ever. But he could hire a good stable of ladies for a table dance rodeo.
After that thought maybe I do not support the weird Mormon robot.

In every one of his corporate bankruptcies he was a personal guarantor, most all banks have required that for decades, and he was majority share holder in each of those corporations.
Now of course the stock was the collateral on all of those loans and stock is equity in the assets of the corporation.
And Trump was and is smart enough to know that the banks do not want stock of a bankrupt casino.
But in reality all of his corporate bankruptcies were HIS bankruptcies.
Without Donald Trump as a personal gurantor NO entity has ever loaned him a nickel.

Corporations are most always forced into Chapter 11 by their creditors as that is a reorganization of the debt. More times than not it happens because that entity is stockpiling cash, not paying their bills and seeking a more favorable interest rate.
Now one that knows this game knows that Trump is in the building business which IS CAPITAL INTENSIVE thus interest rate sensitive.
But the word has always been on Trump and anything Trump, if you are not a bank and are a vendor at any of his entities he will **** you in a heartbeat, allow the large creditors to back him into Chapter 11 so he can **** the small creditors.
He has a long history of that.
