A fair standard.Again, this goes back to, was this hotline pushing kids to embrace the lgbtq lifestyle without the knowledge of their parents?
You seem to be ignoring what I said about that. If its not true, and if the special hotline offers something that will specifically help these kids avoid suicide, then I agree with you. If it is true, then it calls into question if it should be used.
Just the Option 3 doesn’t cost 33million. Pushing a button and having it forward to a call center is a nominal cost. The funding supported the efforts around who the calls were directed toUm because Trumps is ending option 3
Yeah you did, you liarI didn’t say it was new bozo. Your basic mind still isn’t comprehending huh?
I thought we just established HHS as a federal agency
Yeah it did according to the link in the OPJust the Option 3 doesn’t cost 33million. Pushing a button and having it forward to a call center is a nominal cost. The funding supported the efforts around who the calls were directed to
These are the concerns and my question is why? What is cutting it doing that is improving the situation? What does the press 3 option afford them that they wont get from the other line?
It’s saving 33 million dollarsThese are the concerns and my question is why? What is cutting it doing that is improving the situation?
The "Press 3" option on the 988 Suicide and Crisis Lifeline was a dedicated pathway for LGBTQ+ youth and young adults (under 25) to connect with trained counselors specializing in identity-affirming mental health support. The removal of this option, planned for July 17, 2025, has raised concerns about several potential losses:
Tailored Support: Losing "Press 3" means the removal of specialized, identity-affirming support that was specifically designed for the unique challenges faced by LGBTQ+ young people. Critics warn that this could lead to increased suicide risk within this community.
Trust and Access: Advocacy groups like the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) and The Trevor Project emphasize that losing this dedicated service could cause LGBTQ+ youth to lose trust in the lifeline and become less likely to seek help.
Experienced Counselors: While the general 988 Lifeline will remain open and offer culturally competent care, the elimination of "Press 3" means losing access to counselors with specific training and expertise in LGBTQ+ issues.
Life-Saving Services: The "Press 3" option has provided life-saving services to over 1.3 million LGBTQ+ young people since its establishment in 2022. Removing it is seen as a significant loss of critical support.
Increased Mental Health Consequences: There are concerns that disbanding this specialized service could result in increased preventable suicides, hospitalizations, and greater mental health consequences for LGBTQ+ youth and their families.
My response to that is if the Trump admin or HHS didn’t approve of the counseling methods being used ( and I’ll even go with their claims even though I don’t trust a word that Trump or his people say) then they could have restarted or retrained them on how to best handled kids in crisis suffering with identity issues. But just cutting the option they are doing nothing to better help these people who are reaching out.Again, this goes back to, was this hotline pushing kids to embrace the lgbtq lifestyle without the knowledge of their parents?

If you’re going to make that claim can you back it up with any proof?A fair standard.
But is there any doubt that most if not all of the "counselors" on this LGBT-Q++ would indeed tell kids to work around their parents to find a way to start the hormone treatment before puberty reduces their chances of "passing?"
Haha we didn’t u knew it was one and had been oneYes “we” you and me… we had just established that HHS was a federal agency via our discussion in this thread.
Option 3 cost 33 million dollars according to the link in the opOn what? Explain
Wrong. I laid out the elements that went into the 33. You’re ignoring them and lying. It doesn’t cost $33 million dollars to have a forward number on a call line. It’s the infrastructure around it that costs the money. This is basic stuffYeah it did according to the link in the OP
The 33 million just went to the optionWrong. I laid out the elements that went into the 33. You’re ignoring them and lying. It doesn’t cost $33 million dollars to have a forward number on a call line. It’s the infrastructure around it that costs the money. This is basic stuff
You’re lost in this conversation. You were justifying the vet hotline because it was a federal agency. HHS is also a federal agency which justifies 988 and providing the best service possibleHaha we didn’t u knew it was one and had been one
You thought it was new, I educated you
It does provide the best service possibleYou’re lost in this conversation. You were justifying the vet hotline because it was a federal agency. HHS is also a federal agency which justifies 988 and providing the best service possible
