Trump to create religious office in White House, target 'anti-Christian bias'.

Blatantly unconstitutional, not to mention the antithesis of what the founders intended.
Agreed. Singling out one religion to the exclusion of others is "favoring an establishment of religion". Which is un-Constitutional. FedGov is not allowed to pick and choose.

When we go looking for him with tar and feathers, we'll know that we don't need to look into that room.

Definitely a change....

He is lying about the purpose. It is not to weed out non existing anti Christian bias. It's to promote Christian Nationalism in violation of the 1st Amendment

OK here we go...show us in the constitution where this is in violation...

First Amendment

First Amendment Explained

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.

A reading of the simple English of the First Amendment shows that the government is to remain neutral on religious matters. The government shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof.

The government has no power, literally, to make people act a certain way. Free speech means a person can speak poorly of religion or speak favorably of religion. Trump and the government cannot stop people from being anti-christian or anti-jewish or anti-muslim. People will harbor those feelings no matter what silly laws are on the books.

Government law cannot stop people from consuming harmful substances like alcohol, nor can it stop people from speaking badly of those who practice religion.

And now you can tell me how what he did was establishing a religion

And now you can tell me how what he did was establishing a religion
Are you serious?? No one is saying that he established a religion

The Establishment Clause of the First Amendment prohibits the government from establishing a religion or favoring one religion over another. The Supreme Court has interpreted the clause to mean that the government cannot:

  • Establish an official religion
  • Compel attendance at a religious institution
  • Interfere with a religious organization's selection of clergy or doctrine
  • Provide benefits to some religious entities and not others without adequate justification
The Supreme Court has used the "Lemon test" to determine whether the government's actions violate the Establishment Clause. The Lemon test has three parts:

  • The government's assistance must have a secular primary purpose.
  • The government's assistance must not promote or inhibit religion.
  • There must not be excessive entanglement between church and state.

Where has he given favor to oen religion? He's just trying to protect people from all of the anti Christian rhetoric, of which ther ehas been a lot of lately.

Also:

Reaffirming "In God We Trust" as the official motto of the United States and supporting and encouraging the public display of the national motto in all public buildings, public schools, and other government institutions.

Also:
Where is he favoring Christianity ?? You just answered your pwn question. He created an office to fight anti Christian rhetoric. Not an office to fight ant Islamic Rhetoric . Not and Office to fight Anti Semitism . Not and office to fight anti religious speech in general . Clearly it favors Christianity.

And this is while there is a hell of anti Islamic and Jewish hate speech and very little if any anti christian speech

And what is you point in this "in god we trust " Thing ? You do know that most religions have a god, don't . So no, that is not a first Amendment issue if that is what you're trying to say

Also:
POTUS or Congress has no lawful authority to protect one religion over another, and it does not have the ability to do so, even if it had a lawful authority. Government has no ability to make citizens act in a certain way.

No religion is being established by the government.
One, actually 2, are being protected by illegitimate government action. Christianity in the case of thread topic is being protected, and Judaism by other government actions. Both actions are violations of the letter and spirit of the US Constitution.

Protection isn’t the same as establishment
