It's not just a label, it gives certain powers to the President to handle the group....such as easier to freeze assets and other fin sanctions, give consequences to states or organizations that give them aid, or individuals etc

Truth is that money given is very accountable... A lot actually is given right back to US companies... Is it 100%, look where we are working but no one was saying it was no spent pretty well...

Is a drug addict more likely to get a costly drug treatment (with weeks of 24 hr care followed by consulting, drug replacement, employment reintroduction....) or an even more costly Prison Sentence?
The profit margin of Prison is much better..

Also closing the border is a joke statement... Are you suggesting closing all flights? Refusing all passports of Mexican Citizens from anywhere in the world...
Could you also tell us how you are going to get rid of the tunnels as there is no technological solution in the world they works today, just ask the Israelis on the Gaza Egypt Border.....

List any county south the border and explain how the aid we give is benefitting US citizens. TRUMP's is letting countries know we're not the worlds piggy bank and any future aid is going to come with MAGA strings attached.

What does the order say?

The order says cartels are a national security threat in a way that traditional organized crime is not. They have conducted a "campaign of violence and terror through the Western hemisphere" with destabilizing effects, including a flood of "deadly drugs, violent criminals, and vicious gangs" into the United States.

It also says the cartels, as well as two transnational gangs rooted in Central America, pose a national security threat to the U.S., and it says it is American policy to "ensure the total elimination of these organizations' presence in the U.S."

The order instructs the U.S. State Department to recommend, within 14 days, whether to designate the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.
