"Trump sentencing updates: Trump sentenced to unconditional discharge as 'only lawful sentence' to protect presidency

President-elect Trump was found guilty in May of falsifying business records.

President-elect Donald Trump was sentenced Friday morning in his New York hush money case after a jury in May convicted him on 34 felony counts of falsifying business records related to a hush money payment made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels in order to boost his electoral prospects in the 2016 presidential election.

Judge Juan Merchan sentenced Trump to an "unconditional discharge" -- allowing Trump to avoid prison, fines or probation -- out of respect for the principle of presidential immunity, which takes effect on Jan. 20 once Trump becomes president."

The Democrats' lawfare actually helped to get Trump elected. Talk about an "own goal". It will be even more amusing when the conviction is overturned. :laughing0301:
Democrats destroyed the credibility of the media, the judicial system, the FBI, the Intel community and the Justice Department... for this.

AND the Republicans control The House, The Senate, The Presidency and Supreme Court (likely for DECADES as some of the older members will surely retire before the 2026 midterms).

And Democrats got an unconditional discharge.

I haven't read the replies yet, but if 'Pyrrhic Victory' isn't the overwhelming theme, then that's a missed opportunity to highlight a textbook example to those unfamiliar with the concept.

Without a doubt. The Democrats' lawfare literally got Trump elected.

Quite a distinction

It does not matter at all. He is the first president taken to court and found guilty by a jury of 12 peers. That will NEVER change.

On top of that, even if the verdict is reversed, it would not be reversed because of a technicality in the process and not because he is declared innocent of the charges. He is guilty and will forever be guilty of what he was charged with. No ifs, ands or buts about it.

A jury of 12 selected as most likely to find guilt
BS given that the defense picked 6 of the jurors and the jurors that were there were all chosen by lottery. There is no way that all 12 jurors were biased against Trump.

If you believe what you wrote, you are blind as can be and a Trump lover.

Having said all of the above, even if what you stated is true (would would have odds of being true the same as winning the lottery), the reality is that it can never be proven. As such, the guilty verdict of all 34 counts will stand for all time, no matter if the appeal is successful. All that changes is whether he has to pay for his guilt or gets off scott free (of payment).

No stupid, it will not stand for all time once it is overturned.

You obviously have no clue how our justice system works.

A conviction struck down by an appellate court would prove that Trump was the victim of Democrat lawfare.
