I know your policy is whatever trump policy happens to be

Thats why you didnt bother to explain your policy when i gave you the chance to do so

Trump is now turning on MAGA. He's feeling the pressure from agriculture and big business who are losing their labor force due to the crackdown on illegal immigration.

"You go into a farm and you look, and people have been there 20, 25 years and they worked great and the owner of the farm loves them and everything else and then you're supposed to throw them out and then you know what happens? They end up hiring the people, the criminals that have come in, the murderers from prison, so everything else...."

Without lobbying, moneyocracy in America does not function effectively. U.S. politicians are well aware of this, and U.S. media outlets also play a role in lobbying. lol. :)

👉 Lobbying plays a significant role in shaping U.S. immigration policies for both parties, primarily driven by business interests, labor unions, and other interest groups that seek to influence visa allocations, enforcement, and reform outcomes.

How Lobbying Influences Immigration Policies

Business Lobbying for More Immigration: Corporate and business groups, especially in sectors like technology, agriculture, and hospitality, actively lobby for expanded visa programs and more open immigration policies to secure a steady supply of labor. For example, technology companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Meta invest heavily in lobbying to increase H-1B visa caps, which allow them to hire high-skilled foreign workers. These firms often lobby not only Congress but also executive agencies like the Department of Homeland Security and U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to influence visa adjudication processes favorably 1246.

Moderating Influence on Immigration Debate: Historically, business lobbyists have worked alongside immigrant advocacy groups and labor organizations to moderate the immigration debate, helping to pass reforms such as the 1986 legalization program and expansions of visa categories. Their presence has often countered more restrictive or nativist elements within the Republican Party 1.

Labor Unions and Opposition to Immigration: Labor unions tend to lobby against increased immigration, particularly low-skilled immigration, arguing it depresses wages and harms native workers. Studies show that higher union membership correlates with more restrictive immigration policies, as unions push for barriers to immigration to protect their members 257.

Lobbying by Private Detention and Enforcement Interests: Private companies operating immigration detention centers also lobby for policies that sustain or expand detention contracts, influencing enforcement-focused immigration policies favored by some conservatives 6.

Political Contributions and PACs: Wealthy individuals and political action committees (PACs) fund campaigns to sway immigration policy in line with their interests —some advocating for stricter border controls, others for more lenient pathways to citizenship, reflecting the divided political landscape 6.

Summary

Lobbying shapes U.S. immigration policy by aligning it with the economic interests of powerful groups. Businesses lobby for expanded immigration to meet labor needs and influence visa rules, while labor unions push for restrictions to protect workers. Private detention firms lobby for enforcement policies that benefit their industry. These lobbying efforts impact both Democratic and Republican immigration stances, making immigration policy a product of competing economic and political interests rather than purely ideological positions.

Trump is doing the right thing.

This is what happens when you have no core principles.

He could/should have taken a more Socratic approach to the question, and talked about legal immigration & seasonal work visas...What has prevented these people from becoming legal immigrants and/or green card migrant workers, and what can we do to make sure that the good hard working ones don't get caught up in the repelling of the 4-year invasion?

You hold to the principle of getting the indigent gimmiegrants out, while showing the understanding and compassionate front you need, without inviting the appearance that you're wishy-washy.

We dont know because you never argue for positives

All you do is attack other people’s idea’s but never none of your own
