This is why the world has lost respect for the USA. You're the richest nation in the world, but you got to that point, by exploiting the best and the brightest from all over the world, first inviting them to come to the USA for an education, and then openly encouraging them to stay.

Now Trump is just rounding up anyone who isn't a citizen, and deporting them with no due process. The whole thing is, at best, inhumane, and at worst, terrorizing, cruel, and deadly.

And there is no good reason for doing it. You let these people in for decades and now, overnight they're being arrested and deported with no due process.

But I'm happy to answer. I'm a libertarian, so in general I'm for less government meddling. But I've also come to appreciate consensus government. This crap where we slam through a bunch of changes because one of the shit parties gets 50%+ of the vote and we call it a "mandate" - is pointless. Without real leaders building real support for their policies, all we get is temporary token changes. The other side simply waits for their turn when they'll come in and rip it all and push things in the other direction. Wash rinse repeat.

In his last Administration, Trump held mass raids on Tyson Foods and Koch chicken processing plants, pulling 600 illegals out of the two plants, and neither company was charged. Obama got judgements, fines and supervision orders on 450 employers in his first term alone. Trump got 1.

The fines levied against employers more than covered the costs of investigation and prosecution, and when employers stopped hiring, illegal border crossings went down. As soon as Trump was elected, prosecutions ceased, and the "Now Hiring" signs went up, as did illegal crossings.
