“Compromise,” when it comes to negotiating the details of proposed legislation, isn’t always a bad thing. I believe we have reached a little bit of common ground there.
However, while a compromise on some details may be needed to achieve an agreement which can then be voted on is categorically different than a compromise of fundamental principles.
Now, not to get too personal or snarky (seriously), it is my observation that you, too, frequently show the very characteristics which you denigrate, here. Yours are simply “for” the so-called “other side” of the ones you are criticizing.
It is a tough situation to determine how much to compromise. But congress is in gridlock because they are not willing to compromise enough. There are too many issues and problems that are not getting done.
