Trump said: ‘A Lot of People Are Saying Maybe We'd Like a Dictator'

And what about everything that Trump is doing, that could potentially put someone else in a position for a dictatorship?

Getting rid of all the checks and balances that exist.

Allowing this to happen and sitting back and saying "it'll all be okay".... it's not always okay.

I dont know what to tell you. All I can say is, January 20th, 2029, someone else will be in the white house and we won't be in a dictatorship.

Well, as a voter maybe you need to consider things a little harder. Maybe someone else will be in, but the US will be a different place, less secure, less free.

And your vote won't make any difference to the direction the US is taking, because the rich and powerful don't give you a vote that matters. They give you a joke of a vote, because that pacifies the people.

Sure, every president will shift the political landscape, ill give you that. As soon as trump leaves the WH, the next president will start putting the old ways back in place, especially if its a democrat. It may take a couple of years, but the US will soon fall back into the same groove it had been in before trump came along. He's just a small detour, but under a new captain, they'll steer us, for better or for worse, back to the path we were originally on.

I already think my vote doesn't matter. This country is run by the rich already. Sure, you can vote for whom you want, but at the end of it all, its the same person who gets elected:

That's only because We The People are allowing that to be the case.

If we cared enough to do something about that, we could do something about that.

what can we do about it? Im not talking about trump, or biden, or Clinton, or Bush, im talking about the people you can't see. The money behind all of this. Thats what really runs the country. Money, power, re-election. Those are the things politicians care about, those are the the things that drive them.

Maybe im just cynical, but you have to wonder if there is anyone in Washington who really cares about working for the people.

It's not about them. They're just nasty people playing the hand they're dealt. The problem is that the populace just doesn't care enough to change anything. If we did, we'd vote in people who will make the changes needed.

You change the rules under which these assholes operate. Term limits, ranked choice voting, publicly-funded elections, bipartisan redistricting committees, there's all kinds of things that can be done that would change their behaviors.

We just don't care enough to discuss it and vote for people who will make the changes.

Thats all great, none of it matters if the understructure of the political system is built around money and power. That's what im getting at. The system is built to keep those who are elected in check, and beholden, not to mention, its the rich and powerful who write our laws and regulations.

How do you fix that?

There's no other way. We vote the right people in. That's our only shot.

I'm certainly not holding my breath on that.

if we could find people who were not influenced by money and power that may work, but would they last? Or would they be spit out by the machine and replaced with someone who won't buck the system

Yep. This would have to be far more than one here and one there. This would have to be a movement thing, where it turns cultural. Cool. Undeniable.

I don't know how we get there from here. The tribes WANT this division. They want to "beat" the other. So on top of everything else that makes this difficult, they'd almost certainly fight it.

Scary times.

That's the problem, How do we Find them??? We need REPUBLICANS, DEMOCRATES, INDEPENDENTS
Willing to work together for the salary we pay them.
Not the time consuming scramble for dollars to Support party,
Or Dollars for their pocket,
Or Personal fame.

Yeah, I really don't know. That's why I bring up the culture thing. It would really have to be a momentum that started at the bottom and became a huge popular revolt.

We're just so far from anything like that now that it's difficult to even imagine.

I don't bother defending the greatest president of our lifetime, so far, with a bunch of deranged Trump Derangement Syndrome victims.

That being said, the Dem party is collectively committing suicide in every possible way and I find it refreshing .

Go Pam and Johnny, Kash, Dan , and the whole team ......the evil deep state is imploding without a splash like they want The left wants 2020 on steroids but their Antifa funding is gone.
