This EO was signed yesterday and was just now published on Whitehouse.gov.

Administration to use CIVIL RIGHTS laws to GO AFTER private companies and organizations who continue using Affirmative Action.

On 21 January, President Trump has signed an executive order rescinding Lyndon Johnson's EO 11246, which established affirmative action, and banning all federal contractors and publicly-funded universities from practicing race-based discrimination. They will also be investigating publicly traded corporations, foundations, and universities for compliance.

From the EO:

Illegal DEI and DEIA policies not only violate the text and spirit of our longstanding Federal civil-rights laws, they also undermine our national unity, as they deny, discredit, and undermine the traditional American values of hard work, excellence, and individual achievement in favor of an unlawful, corrosive, and pernicious identity-based spoils system. Hardworking Americans who deserve a shot at the American Dream should not be stigmatized, demeaned, or shut out of opportunities because of their race or sex.

"Sec. 2. Policy. It is the policy of the United States to protect the civil rights of all Americans and to promote individual initiative, excellence, and hard work. I therefore order all executive departments and agencies (agencies) to terminate all discriminatory and illegal preferences, mandates, policies, programs, activities, guidance, regulations, enforcement actions, consent orders, and requirements. I further order all agencies to enforce our longstanding civil-rights laws and to combat illegal private-sector DEI preferences, mandates, policies, programs, and activities."

(b) The Federal contracting process shall be streamlined to enhance speed and efficiency, reduce costs, and require Federal contractors and subcontractors to comply with our civil-rights laws. Accordingly:

(i) Executive Order 11246 of September 24, 1965 (Equal Employment Opportunity), is hereby revoked. For 90 days from the date of this order, Federal contractors may continue to comply with the regulatory scheme in effect on January 20, 2025.

(ii) The Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs within the Department of Labor shall immediately cease:

(A) Promoting “diversity”;
(B) Holding Federal contractors and subcontractors responsible for taking “affirmative action”; and
(C) Allowing or encouraging Federal contractors and subcontractors to engage in workforce balancing based on race, color, sex, sexual preference, religion, or national origin.

Good…Merit based it is, and it's been a long time in coming!

So no more “minority-owned” or “women-owned” set aside federal contracts?

I hope so, those cost taxpayers more than open competition AND often result in subpar performance in addition to paying more.

That and it will eliminate shady contractors hiding under their wife's name no matter their skin color. There's a bunch of them in my AO.

Yes! All this was, was pandering and wasting our tax dollars. And a lot of funny stuff going on.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday rescinding President Lyndon B. Johnson’s Executive Order 11246, which mandated government contractors take affirmative action.

The order more broadly ceases diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) “discrimination in the federal workforce, and in federal contracting and spending,” the White House noted.

The federal government’s hiring practices will now be merit-based, with employees being rewarded for “individual initiative, skills, performance, and hard work.”

One major facet of Trump’s move is terminating Johnson’s 1965 order.

Under Trump’s order, the Office of Management and Budget will “streamline the federal contracting process to enhance speed and efficiency, reduce costs, and require Federal contractors and subcontractors to comply with our civil rights laws,” a White House fact sheet notes.

Furthermore, the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs will not be allowed to pressure “contractors to balance their workforce based on race, sex, gender identity, sexual preference, or religion” under the order.

The White House states that “radical DEI” has reversed “progress made in the decades since the Civil Rights Act of 1964 toward a colorblind and competence-based workplace” and that DEI encourages authoritarianism.

Why don't they go on unemployment insurance like the rest of us?
I was wonder about that myself when I read it last night.

Is it temporary paid leave? I can see it because it was kinda sprung on the people that work there. Some of whom, I'm sure are decent people just trying to earn a living and raise a family.

But how long does it last? Can't be forever. I'm thinking 6 Months, tops. Maybe more like 90 days

Why don't they go on unemployment insurance like the rest of us?

I'm sure they will. But Trump doesn't want to be heartless. Many of these employees simply got a job there & did what they were told...if they can be used in another area...I'm sure they will be. Unless they are unable to drop their DEI bullshit attitudes.

as Trump said 'a colorblind meritocracy'..........~S~

Colorblind my ass, he is still sore from having to pay out for racist bussiness practices.

Trump and his father fiercely fought a 1973 discrimination lawsuit brought by the Justice Department for their alleged refusal to rent apartments in predominantly white buildings to black tenants. Testimony showed that the applications filed by black apartment seekers were marked with a “C’’ for “colored.”

Paid leave sounds like something that everyone would want.

Now people will have to be paid more for the same exact work. No more $65 per hour road crews. $85 now. Yes!

So no more “minority-owned” or “women-owned” set aside federal contracts?

SLAM BAM WHAM. Hey, nothing wrong with a minority owned or women owned business! If it is that way naturally out of their own merits and not via some special grant promoting them JUST BECAUSE they are a minority or women.

Let the table be level.

Let ANYONE excel who is outstanding and hard working simply because they merit it as among the best. This is true non-discrimination.
