Five years later, the theory took a turn. In a rant that has since become a meme and a line of t-shirts, Jones said he didn’t like the government “putting chemicals in the water that turn the friggin’ frogs gay.”

Donald Trump appeared on Alex Jones' program, where Trump praised Jones as having an “amazing” reputation and promised, “I will not let you down.” Jones is America's leading conspiracy theorist -- he believes the government was behind 9-11 and several other catastrophes.

Jones and Trump heavily praised each other during the December 2 interview. Jones claimed Trump has been “vindicated” about his false 9-11 U.S. Muslims celebration claim, said “90 percent” of his audience supports Trump, and told the candidate he's “shown your knowledge of geopolitical systems.” Jones went on to say that Trump is “a true maverick,” and “what you're doing is epic. It's George Washington level.” Trump returned the favor, telling Jones: “Your reputation's amazing. I will not let you down.”

Both are still batshit crazy.
But in Trumplandia, they are "geniuses".

Nope. I'm a realist and I guarantee if Trump gets the nod to run against Bidumb come next election the RNC will lose again. Trump's biggest failing is his own mouth, he's now seen as a somewhat crazy, petulant child among the voters that both sides try to win over, the Independents. You lose them you lose the election. Of course the Independents also don't like Bidumb but they will vote for him over Trump. Now this is informed speculation on my part and the electorate has surprised me before especially when they voted Trump in so who really knows. As for my voting preference my sig line used to say "Vote for Ming the Merciless", people thought that was a just a joke, it's not, it's a commentary on current politics today and I would write him in on my ballot.

I wish he would just get over himself and stop. This feels far more about his own ego than about any interest in the best for the country, and that's the point at which any politician completely loses me.

We don't need him. I think we did in 2016, but now we have quite a deep bench of potential candidates who can and will take the fight to the Democrats and the establishment. Trump and his supporters are living in 2020, focused totally on "getting even", to the detriment of the nation's future.

No more old people clutching power in their withered, arthritic claws all the way to the grave; no more personality cults.

I think he would support some good policies, but his mouth does get in the way to drive off would be supporters. On the other hand, the media did take a lot out of context and run with it.

The press is always going to do its best to misinterpret anything and everything it can to further their agenda. That being said, Trump tended to do half their work for them.
