PG County extracted union dues from my wife’s paychecks for 35 years. NEA donates to the DNC. Twist the the semantics or logistics however you wish but the result is still the same.

Oh I agree he can cut it back and Congress can mostly defund it. But Congress has to abolish it as a cabinet position. He can't do that on his own. But for sure he can downsize the Department and Congress can mostly defund it.

He has nominated Linda McMahon to be Dept. of Education Secretary but she has been instructed to eventually put herself out of a job. And the House is already mulling voting to do just that.

McMahon's bio shows a true rags (abject poverty) to riches story. She has no education experience whatsoever being a business expert, but a person assigned to close down a department doesn't need education experience.

Maybe she will keep a small remnant as an agency within another cabinet position and do what I want the Dept of Education to do which is be a data collection and information source that could be so very useful but done by a handful of employees.

For years I agreed. Yes, that is the argument. Giving parents who send their kids to private schools tax breaks is going to further widen the gap between rich and rest of us. It will defund public schools. But public schools kind of suck. I'm done defending the status quo. And the vast majority of us send our kids to public schools but too many of us voted for Trump so guess what? We're going to implement the Republicans policies. Because regular people don't appreciate what liberals have done for them.

So now I think it's a great idea. Because there are a lot of middle class people who want to send their kids to expensive private schools. I know a few. And they should get a tax break. They spend a shit ton of money on private school. So why should they fund your kids school?

I worked in this same school system myself for 11 years. Our school system sucks and is run by democrat bigots.
