I have an opinion and some questions - OK I am watching Trumps liberation day video on YouTube.
OK it seems it started out with a lot of blame going towards the foreign countries about tariffs etc, and this is concerning trade and the trade practices and their uses between the foriegn nation's and us.
OK now, let's go back to the 1980s, and this was when free trade was busting wide open between our business sector and other nation's right ?
At first our business sectors had begun the great new global trade deal, by outsourcing a small percentage of our private sector production to other countries. This was supposed to be in theory that we would then begin helping poorer countries to get in on the action or world economy by getting their act together, and doing it with our help.
So, a percentage of our manufacturing began operating in foreign factories where poor laborer's in those countries were "supposedly" going to be lifted up by the return on their output when the product's were shipped back to America under American labels.
OK, then it got worse and worse and worse until our industrial might and strength began withering away as greed grew in our business class, and outsourcing began to be the big trend that was made to be the norm regardless of what it was doing to our American industrial might, and the American workforce here.
Plants began to be all but shut down here, and skeleton crew's stayed on in order to give the appearance that products were still being made in America by American worker's.
Money was being made here alright, but it was mainly being made by the CEO's and higher management along with those making a killing on stocks and trades based off of the system that was created and being run in these ways.
So who exactly is to blame for most of it ? Was it the American business class or was it the foreigners that twisted our arms and made us do business with them in these ways ?
Who benefitted the most ?
Were the tariffs that were so high or out of balance in these other countries (by design against us), actually being used as a deterrent for American business to not use on shoring (only in appearance of), therefore causing us not to produce products in America all because of such a set up in collusion with these foreign nations who are trading with us in such ways ???
Wouldn't it seem to the average American that we just couldn't make a come back or make it under the weight of it all, so it was just accepted by us that we were just going to have to keep outsourcing everything by using other countries to produce it for us in other nations, and then ship it back here where the tariffs were low on the entry of those products, and it being in order to allow for American business to make huge profits once the product's are sold into the interior of America by these American business men upon receiving the goods that were then cheap to produce, cheap on import, and high on profit ???
Was everything just completely corrupt in this scheme ???
