You're trying desperately to make political hay out of the fact that there was a total of 500 actually essential workers out of a purge of over 100,000 probationary employees.

That's literally a .5% error.

The mistake was discovered and measures have been taken to rehire these employees.

What damage has been done?

Worst case scenario...500 new probationary employees need to be hired to fill these vacancies that will likely have amazing job security...and 999,500+ position in our bloated bureaucracy have been eliminated.

The problem is they still can't find them all. If it was as easy as you say, then why not just grab a few random 350-500 employees to do that job? Elon's advocates would have you believe that he's tirelessly investigating every agency and worker he's cutting, but this clearly shows he's doing none of that. Now imagine, Elon firing tens of thousands of employees from various agencies that also has no clue about. Now there have been reports of scientists working on the bird flu who have been fired.

In no other situation would I be for an election simply because the aggressor nation called for it but if Trump and only Trump were president and the US were invaded, I would, only because Trump is the kind of coward who would cede anything over just so he can remain in some sort of leadership role under the new regime and save his own ass. This is the weak bully he has shown all of us over many years now. It's why he wouldn't even dare to ask Russia for a single concession in Ukraine peace talks. It's why he's backed down from his threats of tariffs to Canada, Mexico and Columbia when they threatened him back. And it's why Zelensky is a million times the man and president Trump is.
