The number of Republican lawmakers who said they were leaning against voting for the GOP-sponsored health care bill increased yesterday after President Donald Trump visited Capitol Hill to push the plan.

Prior to Trump’s Tuesday visit to Congress to make a “hard sell” to Republicans, NBC News counted 17 GOP lawmakers who either opposed or leaned strongly against the bill, which is also being championed by House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-WI).

Trump warned members of his party at the meeting to get on board or risk losing in 2018 midterms.

The president’s argument, however, did not prove persuasive.

According to an NBC News count, at least 27 Republicans were either opposed to the bill or were strongly leaning against it by the end of the day. Republicans must keep the number of defections below 22 if they have any hope of passing the bill on Thursday

Trump is making the mistake of trying to get it done QUICKLY by pushing Ryan's poor plan in order to keep a campaign promise instead of making sure it is done right.

He should tread with more care - After all, he doesn't want to end up like Obama and have his name associated with a POS.

NBC News....LMFAO....

at any rate, hopefully the Rs stand up an vote this piece of shit down, unlike what the Ds did with Obamacare.

Has Trump bribed any Rs yet, like Big Ears did?

All the ACA needs is a bit of TLC, definitely not repeal

Trump, at 39% approval, tried to leverage his popularity to strong arm some Republicans into voting for Trumpcare.

Not the most brilliant plan.

That's what the captain of the Titanic said about his ship after it hit the iceberg!

And to think of all the sheep that voted for him because " he was a deal maker."

He also insulted them in breathtakingly flagrant fashion by claiming he converted them all to unanimous agreement after the meeting.

One would think silly D voters like you two, would be happy about what the Rs are doing with Obamacare. They are merely tweaking it slightly...so Obamacare lives on...fucking up everything.

D voters are really a screwed up bunch.

Rightwinger extraordinaire Governor Jan Brewer in AZ is now lamenting the possible loss of Medicaid for thousands of her constituents.
As I said, after Obama destroyed the previous health care system and replaced it with the existing POS that is COLLAPSING, health care in the US will never be the same.

Politicians tried to fix a problem by creating a much bigger problem, and now the solution to that much bigger problem is yet another govt-created problem!

Politicians can, as they say, F* Up a wet dream...

The ONLY ACCURATE PREDICTION that can be made about the GOP's health care bill - if they ever pass one - is that no matter what is passed not one politician in Washington will be using it because they will all Un-Constitutionally exempt themselves from the law they impose on the rest of us, just like what the politicians did with the ACA.

The ACA was doing just fine, all it needs is a bit of tuning
