Agreed , but trump has altered the dynamics of the BRICS situation ; making US weaker and them stronger. BRICS grew by 4% this year surpassing the global average ( including US ) , they now have 41% of global trade. Leading the world. We are not number one already and it's going to get worse.

Who's going to be hurting worse ? That's the bottom line. And unfortunately it looks like it's going to be US. trump's America First will put US in last place. Even the EU has bigger share of global trade than we do. 36% versus our 27%.

Our having China produce a huge majority of our goods no longer manufactured here, has brought us down as a global economic power.
The US dollar is failing, debt is off the charts.You're surprised Brics has come about to challenge global economic power? There has been an effort for several decades to replace the US dollar as the reserve currency......so Brics are doing what's been discussed for some time.
Your worry should be with our debt. Now it's closing in on 30% of our GDP......and we have to borrow money to make our credit card payments.....cool, huh?
Agreed , aging populations in both countries ( most modern nations ). Plus they've been over-selling for years. Who is more dependent? I still think it's US.

i saw a story the other day saying the people are getting pissed at Xi because their places of work is suffering and they want him to get this done...
I read similar things like protests.
And the government allowed them , oh no , another democracy on the rise. That would be real trouble.

If only trump had some intention of paying down the debt with the tax savings he's trying to do but no he rather give it away in tax breaks to the wealthy. That makes sense in his world. LOL.

That isn't the point , the point is trump has and will continue to push Trade away from US And make US more isolated and weaker. His policies ( bad joke on US ) are working towards their advantage , not ours.
Gee Stann, why are all these companies moving ops back to the US or are investigating to build manufacturing facilities here?
The numbers are rather large.
And most won't do it because of high labor costs here. You better look at what we are losing instead of what little might be gained. trump is simply bankrupting the country; that's one of the few things he's good at.
