I agree with Trump on this one. The Senate needs to end the filibuster. With its end enforce your will for the remainder of this Congressional session. It might make sense to end the filibuster specifically for passing clean CRs to end government shutdowns. That recurring bit of political theater got played out decades ago.

As for removing the Filibuster entirely? That would be a big mistake and I don't think you'd even get a majority in the Senate on both sides to do that. Both sides know they will be in the minority at one time or another and the Filibuster is the only thing that ensures changes to public policy have some small measure of bipartisan support.

Trump doesn't keep his presidential salary. He donates it to various Government agencies like the Natl. Park Service. He might even donate his next check to the WH rebuilding effort.

NOW is the time to negotiate.... Republicans need to get at least 7 Democratic senators to vote with them, once again, to raise our debt...ceiling, and have enough votes to pass it. Compromise and negotiate to get at minimum, those 7.
