As we're seeing with the great Iranian mis-adventure, putting all of your eggs in one basket energy-wise can be costly. It makes total sense to go with hybrid (I wouldn't do electric only) vehicles. Some lessons need to be learned the hard way. Mississippi is learning one.

I drove about 1400 miles one week in a hybrid van. The battery powered it for about 300 of those miles…about 3/4 of a tank. It’s a winner: a big winner over straight electric cars.

However let me ask you this. How many of these multi billion dollar weapons of war have been built and never used in war; never fired their guns in anger? Its not a waste exactly but it’s not worth the billions we spent--especially considering the outsized spending we voluntarily undertake and also considering that most of the other formidable armies and navies on the globe are allies.

If someone buys an EV...they’re going to use it.
