It's really getting totally outrageous. To say he flip flopped on abortion after Matthews who was going for a soundbite asked him "if abortion was illegal would you arrest the woman?" and responding to the illegal part he said yes.

Then the only news out there was that Trump would arrest women for having an abortion. Un freaking real.

Well campaign promises are always just a suggestion for a Presidential candidate because they cannot enact those promises without Congress.

Trump has to request/suggest to Congress to take action to put a temporary hold on so called refugees until a proper vetting process is in place. He can't do it on his own.

I think Trump values his own 'brand' at around $4 billion and he wants to build it's value even more and he knows that will come by convincing the world that he is a damned good President for the American people.

So while he wont be able to get everything he wants through a DEMOCRAT SENATE, he will get much of it through. And the Dems taking back the Senate will come from a bad set of Senators facing re-election, not Trump. There are more than twice as many GOP seats up for grabs this year as opposed to Democrats (24 vrs 10) and only two Democrat seats look iffy.

When a presidential candidate says "I will lower taxes", it means he will pressure Congress (the legislature) to lower taxes. It assumes he will get his way. Most people know he can't do it by himself. Same thing with banning muslims, if the lawmakers know the people want muslims banned, they will be inclined to go along with it if they want to keep their job next election. It's not a guarantee he will get his way. Trump is just being honest when he says it's just a proposal. Unlike Bill Clinton who made absolute commitments, then as soon as he won the election, he sent out his surrogates to announce that he "wouldn't be able to keep 50 of his promises". We should all appreciate Trump's honesty.
