Trump is suing California over redistricting... even though he supported it in Texas

California's population has grown since 2020 also.

And Texas gerrymandering was about securing more GOP seats.

California's population growth has slowed significantly, with a notable decline in the number of illegal immigrants in recent years due to increased enforcement and fewer job opportunities. While the state still has a large immigrant population, the overall trend indicates a decrease in both illegal immigration and population growth.

From your own link: "Net immigration to California rose to 134,370 from July 2023 to July 2024, according to Department of Finance estimates. Between July 2020 and July 2021, it was at its lowest point (523) in three decades—due to the pandemic and policies that limited travel. Between 2010 and 2019, net immigration averaged 138,000; between 2000 and 2010 it averaged 167,000. (Net immigration is the difference between those moving to the state and those moving abroad.)"

Thanks for confirming what I said.

about a third of California's voters who indicate a party affiliation are Republican. 1/5 of California's Congressional delegation is Republican. This is ALREADY badly skewed against Republicans, and the new map is blatantly intended to make it worse.

But remember, Republicans are a threat to democracy.

California has been taken over by fascist

People that can afford to are fleeing the state

"“Very disappointed in Indiana State Senate Republicans, led by RINO [Republican-In-Name-Only] Senators Rod Bray and Greg Goode, for not wanting to redistrict their State, allowing the United States Congress to perhaps gain two more Republican seats,” Trump wrote in a Truth Social post on Sunday. "

That's how much of a ******* moron Trump is.

He sues one state for redistricting, while attacking a Republican led state for not doing so.

The only thing he cares about is winning.

Redistricting because a state has increased in population like Texas is democratic

Redistricting to save dem seats because other states have gained in population is anti democratic
Texas is the state being anti-democratic

After the 2020 Census, Texas gained two additional congressional seats due to significant population growth. However:
  • 95% of that growth came from communities of color — especially Latino, Black, and Asian residents.
  • Despite this, the new voting maps drawn by Texas Republicans did not create any new majority-minority districts.
  • Instead, the redistricting process diluted the voting power of these nonwhite communities by:
    • Splitting them across multiple districts (cracking), or
    • Folding them into districts dominated by white Republican voters (packing).
  • As a result, the benefits of the population increase — specifically, the additional political representation — were structured to favor Republican interests, not the people primarily responsible for that growth.
This practice has been widely criticized as a form of racial gerrymandering, and legal challenges have been filed alleging violations of the Voting Rights Act.

That is because in Texas, every law was followed, every legal procedure perfectly adhered to. And Texas was responding to a massive inequity in California.

In California, every law was broken, right up to even lying to the voters to get it pushed through as a special election. And they are doubling down on the very inequities that caused other states like Texas to act in the first place.

No laws were broken in California. That is a lie. Texas started it.

That is stupid. What I would expect from MAGA.

So, are there Democrats from Texas represented in the US House of Representatives?

Because there are blue states in which there are significant GOP voters who have ZERO seats in the House. They are not being represented at all.

California's population growth is illegal aliens, by significant orders of magnitude.

The problem isn't exclusively gerrymandering. The problem is counting illegals in the census and then apportioning seats based on that metric.

The law needs to be changed so that, for apportionment, ONLY US CITIZENS are counted toward representation.

The Constitutions says that all people shall be counted. It says nothing about legal or illegal.

Is Pence involved? These guys can be proud. At the end of the day, we are moving towards communism.

They'll talk about Democracy like they care about it, but their actions speak louder than words.

It's not really about laws, it's about morality, it's about Democracy, it's about doing the right thing.

Three is nothing democratic about basing a district on race. In fact it’s illegal

15th post

"US justice department sues California over new voting maps favouring Democrats"

Trump trying his hardest to stand for one thing in one state, and against it in another state.

Does anyone know what he thinks? Or is this not thinking, just doing anything he can to win.
Texas actually followed the laws governing redistricting, California doesn't want to.

So how about you talk about the legality of TX versus the legality of CA?

Is there a difference?

There's nothing democratic about having districts. There's nothing democratic about letting the only two viable parties redraw districts.

Time for Proportional Representation so the people can take back control. (to a certain extent)
