This tariff is only applied when a certain quota is met. The quota is so high the US doesn't even meet half of the quota on dairy exports into Canada in order for them to enact that tariff. Not only that but the US has not exceeded a single TRQ quota on any other exported product, so not a single tariff has been imposed on the US. We have free trade with Canada. This entire blow up is centered around the tariff quotas that were agreed upon by Trump in the USMCA, not that Canada is actually tariffing the US on any products. What's worse, is that dairy only makes up 0.1% of our AG exports into Canada. We are starting a tariff war over tariffs which aren't even being imposed on American products, and on something as silly as 0.1% of our trade with Canada. This is how stupid Trump is.

The Red tape for most part prevents quotas from being met and manipulation by Canada.
