However, no one who can fog a mirror should believe that Don Trump came out a winner in this endeavor. He has been rightfully and appropriately 'slimed" (as they say in the Ghostbuster movie.)

We've already quoted what McConnell, Haley, and others think of my ex-president.
But they aren't the only ones who view Don Trump with extreme skepticism.

• Governor Hogan (R-MD)-- "I would have voted to convict......I think he's still going to face the courts and the court of public opinion."
• Senator Cassidy (R-LA) --- "I voted to convict because he is guilty."
• Senator Toomey (R-PA) ---"I was on of the 74 million who voted for him.....his behavior after the election betrayed the confidence millions of us placed in him."

Don Trump was NOT exonerated. He escaped.
He escaped the very high-bar of Senate conviction.
But don't ignore Hogan above.

Further, his dismissal by the Senate has nothing to do with the Court of Public Opinion which is where Americans are protesting. I understand that Trumpers object to free speech just as they object to the Constitution (see Jan 6). Are you one of those or do you condemn the Republican Terrorist?
